Four lives…

Two people…

One question…

What do you really know about the people around you?

To the residents of leafy Acacia Avenue, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were like any other couple. Living a very ordinary life, in a very ordinary suburb, on the outskirts of a very ordinary city.

But behind closed doors, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were at the heart of a world filled with deception and organized crime—and they were the good guys.

Inspired by true events and detailing Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s covert deployments, this is first in a series of gripping tales.

Undercover Legends is a fascinating insight into the double lives of two undercover officers. First as individuals and then as a couple, they had to balance the stresses and strains of their real lives, families, and relationships, with the murky underworld they found themselves enmeshed in.

In many ways, their legends, those false identities and lives that inhabited the criminal world, were no less real than the lives they were born into. That was a must as their lives may have depended on the robustness of their cover. Four lives…two people.

One question…will you join them on their extraordinary story?

interesting

An interesting look at the lives and actions of undercover agents in the UK. Spanning multiple case actions, this book gives a unique peek inside the covert operations.

A very fun time.

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Nicely narrated by Martyn Swain, Undercover Legends is an action packed adventure filled with cheeky dialogue as we a look inside the world of going undercover to bring criminals to justice; this book also realistically looks at the sacrifices that comes with the job and the families that pay a connective emotional cost with such of an intensive career.

Highly recommended.

Undercover work in the UK.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. This is my voluntary review.
I really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the undercover police world. Experiencing their various undercover operations was very informative and entertaining. Taking on undercover personas while maintaining a personal life is near impossible. Yet, these two are trying.
As I really enjoyed listening to this book, I feel I would have gotten even more out of it had I just read it myself. My mind was just not fast enough to absorb all the info thrown at me. All the initials for various things. All the characters and their real and then chosen names. Had I seen it all in writing, it might have been a little easier.
A lot of my enjoyment of this book was the British humor. The narrator had kind of a cadence and a dry presentation that goes well with the British dry humor.
5 stars for the book. 5 stars for the narrator.

Hidden Identities

This was my first experience with David Le Courageux's work, and it was interesting. I liked that the author managed to paint a picture of the ordinary lives of people in law enforcement that work undercover. The tidbits of the cases that were described were fascinating. The issue that I had was that eventually the story became just a list of actions and somehow the story itself got lost in the lists. Martyn Swain's narration was fine as his diction was easy to follow, but his voice lacked expressiveness. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
