Good but not like the other Jake Grafton series .

I enjoyed it but if you're hoping it will have anything to do with aviation you'll be disappointed. It took a bit to get into it and can get kinda confusing at times with all the characters but I'm glad I listened to it. I read all the Grafton books up till The Red Horseman when I was 13 or 14 but decided to listen to them all again starting back in December. some I can remember some I can't, I just turned 35, but overall Stephen Coonts is very talented and the narrator of all of this series, at least so far, has been excellent.

Too complicated!

Too many plots and sub plots. I felt it was confusing and too many different things going on were a major distraction. Also, way too long!

Narco Terror?

What if narco terrorists with lots of money hired mahem and anarchy in the US? Applied the same strong arm tactics to the USA as to Columbia or Venezuela? That's the thesis of this book and Jake Grafton plays a small but crucial role. I was surprised that the US leadership did not apply interdiction in Columbia to the story; it would have improved some. Instead, the author stayed with tactical roles, even making the CJCS a tactical commander. I liked the book and am looking forward to the next in the Grafton series.

Starts out slow, but give it time.

It starts our slow, and seems to jump around a lot. Jake Grafton is hardly in it at fist. Give it some time. It's a solid story. Well done Stephen. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I have listened to all the jake grafton and tommy carmalini books except cuba which is not available in unabridged at audible as of yet and have enjoyed the series very much. good action and great characters. I recommend them all.

Different

Don't get me wrong I liked this book but it was a little hard to see how it fit in the story line of Jake Grafton the great Navy Pilot/hero. When the story became obvious it was certainly different than all the other Jake Grafton books. If I didn't know better I thought that Coonts was introducing an new character in this book.

Coonts Wrote a Masterpiece

I've read or listened to all of Stephen Coonts's books in the Jake Grafton series. All are exceptionally well written and engagingly performed in the audio versions. Coonts sets a very high bar in the genre, but that said, Under Siege is his masterpiece. The story line is compelling and holds the reader's interest from start to finish. Bravo.

Not a Grafton Story

I fail to see how this was considered a Grafton story. He and 'Toad' are more supporting characters than anything else. The story evolves more around a reporter and an undercover agent. It's a good novel, but hardly part of the Grafton Series.

Different, but good

Was a good story, but more cloak and dagger than was expecting. Jake was more of a supporting character instead of the main. Enjoyed it though.

Another good story from Steve!

You'll enjoy the constant movement and situations Jake and company continue to find themselves in but it's all on the Ground! All the pilots are walking...
