Publisher's summary

Eric: At least my old police partner is leaving due to a promotion. Like everyone else in my life, my first and only love, Blaine Edwards, simply left me. Now he’s my new partner and the last person I want to see. But after eight years of nothing, I get to see him every day. I don’t care what he thinks, there’s nothing between us anymore, even if it kills me to say that.

Blaine: After eight years of military service, it’s time to do something new. Police work seems like a good transition, until I run into Eric. Of course, he hates me. Thing is, all it took was one look and I know what I’ve always known, all I ever wanted or will ever want is Eric. I don’t think I’m alone in that, either. The trick is getting Eric to see it too.

Misunderstandings drove them apart. Fate has given them a second chance, but will they take it? Will a near-fatal explosion and the sudden appearance of old love letters help? Love stands on a knife-edge in this story of two of Port Dale’s finest police officers.

Another great read

I highly recommend this book. the storyline is nice with its second chance vibe to it. These 2 men have a history but life happens and they lived different paths. Then they get a 2nd chance. The writing is good and the narrator was so easy too listen to.

Outstanding Story

Romeo Alexander created another great book. It kept you interested throughout and had a very good ending. I had no idea how it was going to end. If you have not read or listened to a book by Romeo Alexander than you need to try one. And Keith Smith was a great narrator.

good story

Omg. These angsty guys had me on edge for most of the book. At times. I just wanted to shake them both so they'd wake up and realize what they had together!! Thankfully, they got it through their thick heads and stopped fighting fate. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Shockingly bad performance

The story itself is lovely. I very much enjoyed it. The narrator however was a shock. All voices were the same, borderline emotionless, and they barely managed to get out words half the time. As an English educator, the long pauses between words and sentences remind me of someone reading following along with their finger, like a student still learning to read out loud. I’m not mocking adults who have trouble reading, far from it. However, for a narrator who is paid to read audiobooks, and for something people pay for, it is unacceptable.
