I really enjoyed the story

I really enjoyed the story and found myself laughing out loud at times. Frost is a complex character and I was able to empathize with her struggle. Her relationships with the others, personal and professional, are the driving force in this book.

Love this book

I started listening to book 2 immediately and I’m loving it even more. I like how you hear Ell's thoughts and don't feel so bad if you think the way she does. The jokes, sarcasm, eroticism, and dedication to her job are all excellent additions to her character. I found the narration a little rough on this first book and I’m glad to hear that book two has a new narrator.

Easy to relate

There were three things I especially loved about this story: First, the main male character - Rob - sounds absolutely dreamy, and I'd like to 'hear' more about him Second, the main character's approach to sex in general, and kink in particular, is easy to relate to and i loved reading a story where that is treated as normal and healthy. Third, the author's use of erotic buildup is probably the best that I’ve seen, they really know how to build to the climax.

good murder mystery

This was suggested by a family member. It was a good murder mystery with some well placed steam along the way. I am looking forward to more.

excellent police murder story

This was an excellent police murder story. It contained a lot of sexual innuendo which kept you titilated but needy. The plot was good and the chemistry between Ellison and Rob is hot. I would say the book needs a little less build up and a little more climax, both in the sex and the plot.

This book was really good

In case you are not aware, there are sex scenes, including a little lesbian action. The bondage is really light. Some light restraining, action with riding crop, and I believe a flogger. The mystery was well written however the ending seemed to wrap up too quickly.

very relatable characters

Ellison is a very relatable character. I often feel like female law enforcement officers are often portrayed in a masculine sense in many stories. I was glad to see that this book did not go that way, and although Ellison is a very strong female lead, the story does a magnificent job of introducing you to Ellison in a way that truly helps you connect with her as a person and a woman.

Recommended

At first, the book dragged but once it picked up the pace I couldn't put it down. I did already suspect who the killer was but some plots had me double guessing. I definitely suggest this book to anyone that loves a crime story.

Five Stars

Fall in love with the characters, thought it had a good story line as well as a little suspense. Possibly could have gotten a little deeper into the characters and story but it was a great easy audiobook. I'll no doubt be following R. C. Butler for more books.
