Publisher's Summary

Available for the first time in a single volume, all five Nyssa Glass Adventures.

Nyssa Glass is a reformed cat burglar turned electrician's apprentice, settled into a life repairing videophones and radio-sets. However, when her past comes calling, she finds herself on the run for a murder she did not commit. As her quiet life goes up in sparks, she must face killer robots, menacing villains, and sarcastic computers in a race for survival.

Nyssa has her hands full just trying to stay one step ahead of the police, but she still has time for adventure, humor, and even a taste of romance.

Fantastic Series

I loved Nyssa Glass! I stumbled upon the first while scrolling through steampunk books while on vacation and spent way too much time (while I should have been enjoying the beach) reading! These books are simply irresistible. They are fun and unique and, of course, steampunk! What more is there to say than that?! This is in my top five steampunk series ever!

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review from the author/publisher/narrator.

I wish there were more in this series

This is the first to fifth book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would love to listen to something else.
Below I’ve copied most of the publisher’s summary for each book (saved me summarizing it all ).

Book 1-
Nyssa Glass is a reformed cat burglar turned electrician's apprentice, settled into a life repairing videophones and radio-sets. However, when her past comes calling, she finds herself forced into one last job. No one has entered Professor Dalhart's secluded mansion in almost a decade, at least not and returned to tell the tale. Nyssa has skills, but this house has more than its share of secrets. Is the House of Mirrors really abandoned?
Book 2-
Nyssa is on the run with Ellis, implicated in a crime she didn't commit. The pair ends up stowing away on a zeppelin and meeting Renard and Amara, two teens running away to be married. But the mysterious couple is hiding something - and it might get Nyssa and Ellis killed.
Book 3-
When larceny is the family business, it's hard to make a clean break. Nyssa has finally gotten her life back together. She has her own electrical repair shop, a boyfriend who adores her, and for once, no one is trying to have her arrested. Until...Uncle Albert forced her into a life of crime and now he's convinced she owes him for her success. Nyssa would rather die than give her uncle a penny. But with her reputation on the line and a thieving orphan in the mix she finds herself stuck between the gears. Will Nyssa free herself from the clutches of the past or is everything she’s worked for going up in smoke?
Book 4-
Nyssa doesn't have many fond memories of Christmas. Her boyfriend Ellis, however, is determined to make their first holiday together a celebration of a lifetime. Nyssa can't let him down. Overwhelmed by decorations and shopping, Nyssa sets out to find the perfect present for Ellis. However, when a charming dance instructor decides Nyssa is what he wants for Christmas, Ellis' only gift might be a dose of holiday heartbreak.
Book 5-
Nyssa and Ellis are ready to settle into happily ever after. However, fate throws another wrench in the clockwork, forcing them apart and leaving Nyssa fighting for her life and freedom once more. Nyssa finds herself in the clutches of the mastermind who framed her for murder: Marcus Rivera. Rivera wants something from Nyssa, something she swears she destroyed in her first trip into the tomb-like Dalhart Manor. Now she's forced to return and this time Rivera is watching her every move.
Back in San Azula, Ellis is desperate to get her back, he must make an unlikely alliance with a police detective. But will he get to Nyssa before it is too late or will his attempts to save her make him Rivera's next target?

This is the first to fifth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Mary Ann Weathers ) and I would listen to more. She gives each character a distinct sound and adds the right amount of personality. The voices of male, female and kid characters are well performed. The books are good and her narration made me fall even deeper into Nyssa’s world.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

A Great intro to Steampunk for me

Nyssa Glass, The Complete Series was my first entry into the world of “Steampunk”. Having said that, I think I can say that anyone who is avoiding this type of novel because it is not their normal genre is really missing out on a great adventure.
This is kind of like Science Fiction because it deals with lots of machinery and inventions that would be futuristic to us. However, all this takes place in a Steam powered society. Steam powered cars, Steam powered ships, Steam powered airships. Really an excellent contrast and a much simpler society than we have today.
These stories tell us about the adventures of Nyssa Glass in a continuous fashion that makes this collection truly one 13 hour novel that is very hard to put down.

Mary Ann Weathers does an excellent job narrating this series and the production was top notch with no issues noted.

I enjoyed and highly recommend this series and I will definitely be looking for more.

Fun, Wholesome and Complete(ish)

This audiobook is a quite enjoyable compilation of five separate-yet-linked novelette-length stories. I recommend for anyone wanting stories set in a steampunk alternate Earth, but don't want to get too bogged down in over-detailed descriptions of every last item of steampunk tech, and who want stories that are overall wholesome and not unnecessarily grim-dark.

Pros: The audiobook actually contains five distinct novelette-length stories, so the rising action and resolution of each story happen within just a few hours. The steampunk setting is distinctly present in fashion and interactions with daily tech, but not brought up in obsessive detail and the focus is definitely on the characters rather than "Oooooh! Steam this and gears that!" as is the tendency of too many authors in the genre. While most of the twists that occur in each tale are obvious, they are well executed and flow nicely.

Cons: After I finished listening I went to look up other works by the author and found that this is not technically the complete Nyssa Glass. There is one other novelette prequel story that tells Nyssa's story leading up to her first attempting to leave her criminal upbringing. While not necessary to enjoy the stories (the relevant details are revealed quite naturally as necessary and without making any clumsy "Oh, by the way, this happened in the past too" asides), I find it annoying to be told something is a Complete series only to find is is only Complete-ish. Given how much I enjoyed these stories, I will likely pick up the e-book prequel at some point soon.

Overall: Recommend to anyone looking for good steampunk fair or short adventures with a capable young heroine.

Such a fun series!

Nyssa Glass was my introduction to the steampunk genre, and I definitely intend to read more! Fun characters, sweet romance, witty dialogue, intrigue, and adventure all made this series very enjoyable to read - or in my case, listen to on audiobook :) Highly recommended for steampunk fans or anyone wanting to give the genre a try! The narration was well done - I enjoyed the pacing and all the characters' voices. And I loved listening to the whole thing without waiting for the next book!

One of my favorite series brought to life

I’m a huge fan of the Nyssa Glass series and the audio version is excellent. I know this will be one I’ll listen to multiple times.
The narrator does a great job of both giving Nyssa a voice and making the other characters unique including HART who is a mechanized voice but has personality.

Sassy, tough Heroine and a Good Narrator

First of all, if you at all like steampunk and audiobooks, get the audiobook version of this book. The narrator does an EXCELLENT job and nails Nyssa's tone and wry sense of humor. So easy to listen and totally sucked me in!
