Publisher's summary

Finding forever is simply too hard.

As a renowned chef, Gabriella Russo knows how to season a good dish. It’s her personal life that’s been too spicy for her liking. Ready to take a break from the rollercoaster of romance, Gabriella’s moved to Oregon to open Tangled, a restaurant on the grounds of Tangle Valley Vineyard. A good glass of wine and space to create is all she requires.

Ryan Jacks brings all the girls to the yard, or so it should say on her business card. She’s a skilled carpenter who’s been told more than once that she’s good with her hands. When Ryan takes a job building a new restaurant, her world comes to a halt. The sassy chef is sexy, insightful, and comes with the kind of smart mouth that has Ryan rethinking just about everything. But with Gabriella off the menu, what’s Ryan supposed to do?

Cute story, narration could've been better.

Just use Felicity Munroe for the narrator to all Melissa Brayden books. Or Lori Prince.

Solid romance, but a bit too dragged out

Ok, so I liked the beginning, it was good and I liked the protagonists push pull relationship. I thought it was fine until the conflict arose. This is where the book slows down, like snail pace slowed down. It just re iterates how insecure they both are and how much they don't communicate. Please kids, remember to talk about your feelings. This goes on from the middle of the book, all the way to the end until finally, lo and behold, they talked about it and, magically, it's resolved.

As for the narration, I've figured out why I don't particularly like Melissa Sternenberg. She has a clear and good voice, however, all the characters she narrates come off as the same type of character. Same tone, Same voice, same reactions to situations and so on. It becomes very bland when you hear the same character throughout the entire story, even if they aren't supposed to be.

All in all, it was good but dragged. Do I recommend this? sure, if you want a very solid romance with a somewhat convoluted conflict scenario, this is for you.

Solid

Another good book by Brayden.
Though, I didn't enjoy this pairing as much as the first one. I still very much enjoyed the listen.

Loved it

Laughed out loud more than once. Can't wait for "What a Tangled Web" to come out on audio.

Loved the characters & narration

While I loved both the main characters and most of their interactions together especially on the softball field & with Ryan's mom, this book seemed to drag on for me, I think it was the repetitive, "she's a player" "I'm not good enough" that felt like it was present in every chapter...all 24 of them. Still a good read but definitely looking forward to Madison and I'm guessing Clem's storyline next. Thoroughly enjoyed Melissa Sternengerg's narration on this one.

Not as capturing...

The first book of this duo was much better. This one was too slow, and mainly the last part was good.

Fun read but fast narrator

I liked the story. Unlike the first book, there was no utterance of the word 'Willamette' so no fingernails on chalkboard moments. Still, as others have noted, the narrator is a fast read. I often bump up performances. I run Abby Craden at 1.1. but Sternenberg I run at 0.85. The narration works fine at 0.85-0.9. I otherwise like her narration quite a bit.

Feeding Their Souls

Gabriella Russo is a renowned chef who moved to Oregon with her best friend to run the future restaurant at Tangle Winery. A wonderful romance and journey to a beautiful life.

Awful, awful story.

The reviews weren’t great but I really really wish someone would have told it like it is.

Spoilers: This book is bad. I enjoyed the first one but this one fell absolutely flat. Ryan was so boring. I just wasn’t invested in the couple. They broke up before they even started. Then bam Ryan loves her, but wait. Madison becomes the conflict. Madison, her supposed to be best friend decides she still loves Gabs. Unbelievable. Then Ryan gets spooked by falling in love/gabrila and Madison. And oh ya gabrilas family That lives on the other side of the country says that Madison is the one for her. THEY WERE ONLY TOGETHER 4 MONTHS. Melissa Brayden, I’m disappointed. This story was completely contrived, filler, drama filled, juvenile and borderline unreadable. And I’m supposed to buy the 3rd book about Madison? The villain from this book? Really poor storytelling.
