Kept me on My Toes

Where does Two from Isaac's House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved the way Normandie did it again....keeping the reader in suspense and hoping for the best! A nail biter, where you are hoping Rina and Tony end up together.

What did you like best about this story?

I LOVED Acies's spunk and giving a new light of hope to Rina. This was just what Rina needed....someone to be on her side, with no judgments (esp. after dealing with Jason).

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many wonderful turns and twist, but I think my favorite was at the airport, where Tony is picking up Rina and that Tony is actually an acquaintance of her uncle (such a small world)

Any additional comments?

I loved once the narrator got into the story telling, it was almost like you could envision everything happening in front of you.

The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Give it a chance, the story and narration is good

I was really surprised with Two for Isaac’s House! It was a fun, fast-paced book that kept me fully engulfed into the world! This was my first book by Normandie Fischer, I haven’t researched this author so I’m unsure of how many books this author has written previously or if this is a debut… but holy beans man! The description is amazing. Seriously some of the BEST visual words I have ever listened to. Fischer makes it so you feel like you are in the story, completely immersed.

I think my favorite part of this book was how real it seemed. I mean, the Middle Eastern issues and terrorist plot was really timely. The real world issues made it so relatable. It also made it seem so much more suspenseful. The romance added in with it brought it up another layer. It was really fun to have a setting start in a North Carolina town to travel all across the country… Fischer takes us to Italy, Jordan, Paris, and Israel. The descriptions and imagery was fantastic. My only problem with the book was it was a lot going on. I kind of wish we dropped a problem or two. Sorry, I know I’m vague here but no spoilers here!

This is also the first book I’ve listened to by Brandon Potter. I thought Potter was a great narrator. His accents and the inflections made this narration. The narrator takes a bit to get into it but once Potter gets into his stride, he knocks it out of the park. Give it a chance. The story and narration is so good!

Good Suspense

I listened to this through Audible and thoroughly enjoyed it. Romance, suspense, spies, lots of action and great writing made this an excellent and interesting read. Rina and Tony are well-developed characters that make you want to get involved with them and their plight. The locations were set so that you could really picture them and feel like you were wandering the places with knowledge of them. Brandon Potter was a wonderful narrator with great accents and inflections. Very nice to listen to. A very good book that I recommend you read.

Very, very good all around!

The basic story is of a woman who has decided to travel on her own when she comes into an inheritance. She meets a man that she is immediately drawn to. He's attracted to her also, but his life is a little complicated at the moment. He has been drawn into doing a little espionage for his cousin. There are people hunting him, which makes a romance a bit difficult to work in. When he disappears, she tightens her belt and heads off to dangerous countries to try to find him. Is he dead? If she does find him alive, has he lost all interest in her? Could the journey endanger her as well?
This isn't my usual listen and to be honest, I got lost sometimes with all the different names, places and religious references that were made. I'm sure I would have gotten more out of it if I'd been able to keep it all straight, but it was still a great story and awesome narration! I didn't downgrade my rating because of things that were my fault in understanding the story.
This book had suspense, espionage, romance, travel and self-discovery. It is very relevant to the times and what is going on in the world today. You should definitely give it a try.

Love and suspens!

At first the narrator seemed to just read the book, but I hung in there abd soon he found the Voice! I was so captivated in listening and quickly was caught up into the edge of the seat suspens!

International Intrigue with a Splash of Magnolia

Would you consider the audio edition of Two from Isaac's House to be better than the print version?

I enjoy reading, but I'm often crunched for time. Both the print and the audio are fine works, but the audio version came in handy on this occasion. I listened to it while driving to and from work.

What did you like best about this story?

Nice tension and conflict in a well-crafted story about a southern woman who visits Italy and gets caught up in international intrigue.

Normandie Fischer delivers yet another well-written novel with Two from Isaac's House, successfully blending an international story with a touch of southern fiction. Brandon Potter did an excellent job narrating the story and the various accents and languages within. Well done!

This was really good and pulled me in...

This was an free audiobook I won in a Facebook contest!

Wow, it's not at all what I expected, but I did enjoy it very much! Soo much detail about overseas and their vacation!

I don't usually read books like this! I mostly enjoy the sweet Christian romances set in the 1880s or so!

This was really good and it pulled me in but with so much death and fear, it wasn't something I could listen to late at night and expect to sleep right after!

I'm glad they both thought about the faith of their ancestors and started to at least be open to praying and believing that God put them together in a divine pattern. I would have like to see their faith grow a bit deeper myself. I felt the uncle was just starting his walk with Jesus but it wasn't really expounded upon either!

For a while I thought the Southern friend who gets engaged to an Italian was a double agent! Their friendship seemed to deep to fast to be real but I do know it happens! Especially when you need a friend like she did! Since I only heard the names, I have no idea how to spell either of the girls in this story!

I loved the whole story and the way it was performed. The producer has a great range of accents. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to the them, but once I did I could hardly put the book down. There was just the right balance of action and reflection. And I love that the story was CLEAN. I've been told this is book one and I can't wait for book 2.

I loved the setting and how the author paints the backdrops with all the senses.

The most memorable moments in this story are the small moments when the food and the ambiance work together to make the reader (listener) feel like he's there.

Have you listened to any of Brandon Potter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard this reader before, but his voice is dreamy and he manages so many accents! Syrian, Italian, Jordanian, Israeli, and American southern to start . . . his performance truly gives the reader a theatrical experience. Loved this vocal performance.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love and danger with a streak of providence.

Italy, sounds so romantic, right? Well, yes. Except for the terror ring, espionage, coincidences, and dead bodies. But there's a hunky tall American who can't get his mind off a sweet, tall American girl who's in WAY over her head. Circumstances throw them together, and then pull them apart.
What a story! Totally unique and truly fascinating.

Great story!!

I'm not usually a reader of suspense terrorist type books however once I started "Two from Isaacs House" I couldn't quit listening to see what would happen next.
Imagine living your whole life being brought up thinking your dirt poor and being embarrassed by how your father made you live and dress only to find out he lied to you your whole life!
Now you have inherited his small fortune & before you marry and settle down for life you decide to embark on a journey of your lifetime- never imagining what that journey brings.... New love exotic travel & adventures of a lifetime!
Although different from Normandie's past books it was excellent!!
