What does Tee Quillin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have heard Tee read a few of Mark's books and I love the way he presents the characters. He does a wonderful job bringing the stories and characters to life.Any additional comments?
I like short stories now and then, these are wonderful snippets of well written creepy stories. They are the right size to sink your teeth into. Mark's writing is varied and can take ordinary situations and make them scary. Some of the stories remind me of Stephen King in his younger years.Great audio adaptaion

Each story is a standalone, but they all feature Mark Tullius’s signature mix of unsettling twists, highly imaginative concepts (that you won’t read anywhere else!), and a creeping dread that lingers long after the story is over. And even though there’s plenty of psychological horror and gore in the stories, there’s also dark humor, speculative fiction, and compelling family/relationship themes present—making this anthology a must-read for lovers of short horror or anyone who enjoys dark genre-bending fiction!
The stories also offer great variety—from a talking newborn who secretly terrorizes his mother to an artist whose paintings forecast terrible outcomes to a child terrorized by things that slither and ooze to a hitman hired to punish a man’s bad habits (and many more), there are stories for everyone to enjoy! For those wanting to dive into the most immersive, standout stories at the beginning (or save them until the end), make sure to look for these titles: Each Dawn I Die, Wrong Side Tavern, Out There, Reunion, Lethal Injection, When It Rains, Instant Terror, and Book of Revelation. All of these have compelling characters, unexpected twists, vivid scenes, and compelling dialogue and are carefully constructed to deliver that gut-punch ending!
The wide range of characters, young and old, contemporary and from historical times, makes the anthology even more interesting—and Tullius does a fantastic job at condensing fully fleshed personalities into just a few pages! Because the immersion factor is so high, readers will feel like they themselves are thrust into a kaleidoscope of terrifying scenarios—one moment you’re a man trying to rid himself of an annoying companion, the next you’re a mother unnerved by her baby’s horrifying words! Some characters are disturbingly ordinary, while others are outright demented or nightmarish! Even though there are no repeat characters from one story to another, the vivid, distinct characters are ones you won’t easily forget!
Short horror anthologies really rely on quick pacing, and Twisted Reunion really delivers here! Each story has a sharp setup, and most endings are sudden and jolting, leaving readers craving for “just one more.” Some readers may initially feel like getting through 28 stories is a daunting task, but rest assured that the book maintains strong momentum throughout, and the brevity of each makes flying through the stories effortless and fully enjoyable! The stories are also ordered wonderfully to keep readers always engaged, and the final stories are just as chilling as the first—leaving readers thoroughly unsettled and wanting more!
NARRATOR PERFORMANCE:
The Twisted Reunion audiobook is an addictive, immersive listen narrated by Tee Quillin, a classically trained professional actor and director. He brings to life all 28 tales in this horror anthology with clear diction, a variety of tones, and distinct character voices, including different accents, that help differentiate each story, making the listening experience seamlessly enjoyable and fully immersive!
What’s most impressive about Quillin’s performance is how he fully embodies the characters, even in stories as short as 5 minutes! Each new story feels fresh and distinct from the last, using different pacing, voices, and voice acting skills to quickly craft different personalities for the protagonists from story to story. His expert delivery allows listeners to instantly feel the character’s mindset, which is so important with such short stories—from creepy children to a sinister old professor to an anxious prison guard to a mother terrified of her infant to a murderous conjoined twin, the list of characters and range of voices/accents that Qullin pulls off is nothing short of amazing—the true sign of a true professional voice actor who’s mastered his craft! And what’s even more impressive is that the voices all sound natural and convincing, which really helps to keep the horror grounded and seem more unsettling!
Given there are 28 short stories, pacing is really crucial to keep listeners engaged. Quillin maintains a good rhythm throughout: many tales are quick and punchy, while others (which are more slow-burn and immersive) are narrated slower and atmospherically—and he always matches the pacing to the protagonist’s energy and inner tension!
Overall, Tee Quillin’s performance greatly elevates Twisted Reunion with his convincing and distinct character portrayals, impressive vocal range and acting skills, and expert pacing. His voice is also perfectly suited to the horror genre and anthologies, quickly turning eerie premises into fully immersive listening experiences. If you’re considering this book, the audiobook is definitely the way to go. Horror fans who love twisty, immersive short stories paired with expressive narration will absolutely devour this audiobook!

Story - 4.5 stars
Narration - 5 stars
Most of the stories herein are pretty good. I'd say they're creepy but not terrifying. There's something for everyone. My favorite story was "Book of Revelation" and it involves a Stephen King novel.
The narrator was very good. His character voices weren't overdone and they fit well into the stories.
