Publisher's Summary

To the world, I no longer exist. The life I live occurs outside the third dimension - a memory, a ghost, the boogeyman, or perhaps simply a figment of the imagination. When I’m passed on the street, there is no connection. No eye contact. I’m the one whose presence leaves a cold chill of uncertainty, quickly erased by minds who don’t want to acknowledge that men like me exist. On the dark web, I’m known as Kader, and for the right price, I will do what others can’t or won’t.

I’ve learned to exist within the hard shell I’ve created - until I see her. Laurel Carlson. Her blue eyes see beyond my impenetrable exterior. Her sensual lips long to be kissed and her hidden curves caressed. My mind is obsessed and my body ignited. Though I exist outside her comfort zone, I must enter her world, take the chance, and learn what it is about this beautiful, intelligent, and marked woman that has me entranced - before her time is up.

From New York Times best-selling author Aleatha Romig comes her most dangerous anti-hero yet, set in the dark and dangerous underworld of the Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read the Web of Sin or Web of Desire trilogies to get caught in this intriguing romantic suspense saga, Tangled Web.

Twisted is book one of the Tangled Web trilogy which continues in Obsessed and concludes in Bound.

Just No...With One Exception

It’s incomprehensible that the female protagonist is a scientist! Laurel displayed the reasoning ability and emotional capacity of an infant. She, both the character and narrator, is so annoyingly obtuse I would have quit after a couple chapters, except the male narrator, Jacob Morgan was utterly compelling.

Also the Publisher’s Summary mentions the Chicago Underworld, yet the entire story takes place in Indiana without a single mention of Chicago.

I would NOT recommend this book with the very strong exception of Jacob Morgan’s narration.

I will be looking for anything else he has narrated! He’s seriously talented...he created a powerful impression via a character with very little emotion.

Had to stop at Chapter 11

I abhor books where the author tells you how smart the MC is, but everything the MC says and does makes you cringe at their stupidity. This is one such book. I couldn’t finish it.

Very different plot and storyline⭐🔥🔥⭐⭐

Big big fan of Jacob Morgan but listeners there's a cliffhanger. I don't mind them and this one has me intrigued
and wanting more. I selected this because of Jacob. His character is dark..he's great at those. I will continue the series and won't give away any more spoilers other than to say to me he doesn't narrate enough of the chapters but when he does he's good. So I am looking forward to the next book because of the intrigue and storyline. The narration by both Charlotte and Jacob is good but I admit I'm a tad partial to Jacob. I cant help it. He's so darn sexy!!

If I could crawl out of my skin

I’ve been using audible for nearly 5 years and I have never been compelled to write a review. That’s how bad this experience was.
I’m NINE chapters in and I’m bored out of my skull. The story is extremely slow moving. I believe this is the first part meaning another book is connected. My goodness with all of the wasted details and almost repeating the previous paragraph over and over again this could easily have been fit into 1 book. Can’t finish

I COULDN'T FINISH IT. SO MANY NON SEQUITURS I WANTED TO PULL MY HAIR OUT. THE GIRLS ACTIONS WERE DUMB AND SHE WAS AN ACADEMIC. THIS IS ANOTHER MY BODY RULES MY BRAIN LUST STORIES. I CANT STAND THESE FROM BAD WRITERS. GIVE US A REASON TO BELIEVE SHE WANTS A STRANGER WHO IS CREEPY SO BAD SHE'LL MAKE DUMB DECISION AFTER DUMB DECISION. THE FEMALE AUTHOR INFLECTIONS WERE WEIRD.

To continue or DNF...

I knew going in that this was part of a trilogy so the cliffhanger wasn't surprising. What I didn't expect was how bored I was by the story. I usually connect right away with her books and get invested but am very ambivalent so far. The female lead is excruciatingly naive and I am at a loss for some of her decisions. This is supposed to be some genius scientist, but she let's strangers into her home, has opportunities for escape but passes them up to masturbate, I'm just kind of flabbergasted lol. I pushed through to the end, but don't know if I really want to continue.

A TANGLED WEB OF TWISTED THRILLS

Twisted, Obsessed and Bound is exactly how this very addictive trilogy affected me because, IMO, there’s no denying Aleatha Romig’s ability to write gripping thrillers. She creates intriguing multi-layered characters and describes sizzling chemistry you can almost feel.. and then injects passion and sweet sentiments in amongst smouldering sex scenes. This unpredictable suspenseful plot-line leaves tantalizing breadcrumbs for you to follow as the minefield of secrets, hints, revelations, twists and non-stop action builds to eventually deliver pulse-pounding hold-your-breath drama which keeps you on the edge of your seat. And, as I binge-listened to each delicious part, the wonderful narration brought the excitement, the feels and the flawed characters in this intricately woven storyline to life making each one a definite 5 star audiobook.

Worth a credit? Books 1 and 2 are free in the Audible Escape Package.. so yay you’ve got nothing to loose :) which leaves book 3 which was (for me) definitely worth a credit.

Twisted book 1

Laurel is the girl next door that grows up to become a Doctor research scientist. With 2 of her Doctor colleagues Laurel is on the edge of creating a formula for victims of PTSD, so they can live their life without having to live through the drama. What Laurel doesn't realize is that even her best intentions is surrounded by danger and several liars.

When she is kidnapped she doesn't understand why she isn't afraid of her kidnapper. She uses psychology to understand him and why he took her. For me, the natural instinct to ask questions is normal but I found Laurel sometimes a little dumb as a Doctor to ask some of the more mundane questions especially when her life is in danger.

Her kidnapper is someone to be feared, and doesn't understand with just one stare that would have most men wetting their pants, Laurel isn't repulsed or scared of him. At times he thinks he knows her and she him, but in order to find out answers they have to find out together who put the hit out on Laurel so he can keep her safe.

Charlotte North and Jacob Morgan do an amazing job at narrating this story -looking forward to the next book...warning cliff hanger!

Ended with a BOMB drop!!

Well then, that's what I can an ending!! I have to say, for a cliff hanger ending I feel slightly at ease and like there was some semblance of an ending. Oh no, the story between Kader and Laurel is no where over and the mystery of who and why is still unanswered. Aleatha Romig is one of the best trilogy writers. Twisted sets the stage to what I know is going to be utter perfection! There's a ton of chemistry between Laurel and Kader and I just have this feeling of something big for them on the horizon. I'm really intrigued and can't wait for the story to continue.

The narrators are just amazing for the parts. I really enjoy Jacob Morgan's voice. It's strong and deep yet it holds this deep sexy timber that Iove! Charlotte North is great for Laurel's part. Laurel is a conundrum... she's crazy intelligent but is missing some real world experience. Is it weird that I feel that in her voice? Like Charlotte really portrays what Mrs. Romig developed with her words.

Fantastic!

The Tangled Web Trilogy is FANTASTIC! I loved Laurel and Kader. I loved the mystery, intrigue, and suspense. I also loved the brilliant storyline. But most of all... I loved that we got more of Sterling Sparrow! And last but not least I loved the amazing narrators for bringing the characters to life and making this an absolute must read/listen.
