Story
The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? Sure, I had a teenage crush on him way back when - and everyone knew it - but he never saw me as anything but his little brother's friend, the girl who got tongue-tied any time he walked into a room. I had long ago accepted the fact that his strong arms would never hold me, his lush lips would never claim mine, and his blue eyes would never see me as anything more than who I used to be.

Publisher's Summary
Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times best seller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.
There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself - and of me.
But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made his - in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...
What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

I missed Drew's Voice - SO MUCH !!
Any additional comments?
Twisted begins two years after the end of Tangled, and it’s very different in many ways. It’s told from Kate’s POV instead of Drew’s. Smart and feisty, Kate can stand her own with Drew, matching whatever he’s dishing out. It’s one of the things that I love about her and this story. She is also the woman who finally made Drew understand that there was actually more to life than random meaningless hookups. Things are progressing for this couple which makes me happy - happy - happy. The heat is amazing between these two.…
Life is good for one of my most favorite couples until about the 30% mark…then...HOLY CRAP! Let me repeat myself…HOLY CRAP..... You'll have to listen to the book to understand what i mean :)
Over-all i did not enjoy this book as much as Tangled.. It came across lacking and i just couldn't connect to this story 100% -- think I was missing Drew's fabulous voice... Still - i am looking forward to the next installment... :)

Annoying and disappointing
What happened to strong determined Kate? Apparently she was asking the same question. Hate is a strong word, but I hatd this story. I finished it because I wanted to give a complete review.
Issues:
1> No real plot just a bunch of pity-partying going on by Kate,
2> 10 chapters of one huge misunderstanding where Kate was just as much to blame as Drew. When did lying become dismissable? Why wasn't her fault emphsized more in the story to everyone? It all started with her lie. Seriously this was almost juvenile.
3> The misunderstanding was stupid that it should not have taken 10 chapters to address. It made me fall out of love with this couple.
4> It felt more like an opportunity to highlight Kate and Billy Warren's relationship with all the flashback and him being there. He wasn't all that great of a guy either so to now try to give him some friend with benefit redeaming quality WT*. Kissing? Really. Whose suppos to believe it's truly over if you would still kiss. Perhaps that is the backdrop for DeeDee story in Tamed.
The 2 stars are for chapters 1-5.

SNOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZE
OMG, what went wrong with this story?!?! The only saving grace was the epilogue. The first 6 hours of this book I mentally tried to speed it up to get through the agonizing storyline and get to the point, and finally the epilogue begins and I was laughing out loud until the credits. Charlotte Penfield's voice was like a sedative. It may have been her pace rather than her actual voice, or maybe the combination of the two. I LOVED the first book, in fact I listened to it twice, so disappointment is an understatement for what I felt throughout the majority of this book.
The first book was good enough that I'm not totally deterred from this author, but, I'll probably wait for a sale.

Somewhat unbelievable...
What made the experience of listening to Twisted the most enjoyable?
I thought they narrator did a great job of Kate and as always I enjoy listening to Sebastian York.
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry together, but I did find the story line to be somewhat silly and childish. These characters are close to 30, professional people and have been together for two years yet the entire book is based on a complete misunderstanding that could have been easily resolved with a five minute conversation.
I can't imagine a solid, mature relationship ever going through something like this.

Not as bad as everyone makes it seem
If you could sum up Twisted in three words, what would they be?
Surprising, mildly boring
What was one of the most memorable moments of Twisted?
Billy singing to Kate
What three words best describe Charlotte Penfield’s voice?
Decent, natural, fitting
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not particularly.
Any additional comments?
I stayed away from this book for a long time. Reviews were terrible. I heard Drew was a jerk, Kate was whiny, I went in expecting to hate it. Yes the plot is based on a misunderstanding caused by Drew jumping to the wrong conclusions. But the results aren't that bad. From what people said I thought there was cheating involved. If that's keeping you away, don't worry. It's just a kiss. Don't get me wrong, he still acts like a jerk but it's just not as bad as it sounded from reviews. Kate also didn't bug me. I didn't find her whiny or obnoxious. Just a little boring.

A Scanty Follow-up to Tangled
Emma Chase’s second installment in the “Tangled” Series fell short of my expectations. “Twisted” as told through the eyes of the leading lady, Kate and is narrated terrifically by Charlotte Penfield This is the continuing story of Kate and Drew two years later. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this, and perhaps my expectations were too high, since I gave 5 stars to Book 1.
Although I plan to continue looking forward to Emma Chase’s next audible, I only awarded Twisted an overall 3 stars, mainly because the narrator did such a good job with the material.
Throughout this novel, I found myself frustrated to the point of irritation with the NUMEROUS, (twisted) misunderstandings between the two main characters. It was, in my opinion overkill, because while the reader is supposed to envelope the “love” between Kate and Drew, their lack of faith and miscommunications bordered on the ridiculous. While Book 1, “Tangled” was funny and entertaining to read, “Twisted” was more of a “ugh…give me a break” read.
I’m on the fence with this one. Given the option, I probably would have to listen to it myself, and therefore making it credit worthy, however, I think you would be able to go into Book 3 without it. So, my vote is not worth the credit. Sorry.

*sigh* series ruined
What disappointed you about Twisted?
The narrator either naturally sounded like a moron, or decided she would act Kate's role as one. It was intolerable.
Has Twisted turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
How did the narrator detract from the book?
ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY! Although to be fair, the book was frustrating in and of itself.

Having read the reviews, I put off buying this one
Any additional comments?
Possible spoiler alert.
I'm usually not a fan of what I see as unnecessary confusion, so I wasn't convinced I wanted to read this one; maybe it would be a waste of time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I couldn't put it down. I really wanted to get to the part where Drew and Kate finally realized their mistakes; then the HEA I knew was coming. (I knew this because I'd skipped to the next books in the series.) The important part here is that the writing and the storytelling kept me enthralled even though I knew the HEA was inevitable.
I really wanted to tell them that my husband and I might have long, drawn-out "discussions" about something, but it's the only way we came to understand each other. After 20 years, those conversations are fewer and farther between because we have a good understanding of each other. Things are easier now and our newly married children get annoyed at how easily we beat them at Taboo! I guess Drew and Kate learned that you can't skip to the part where fewer words are necessary.

Stupid Miscommunication.
A very annoying storyline. There was a stupid mix-up between the two main characters, Drew and Kate. It was clearly on both their parts, so I don't understand why Drew had to take most of the blame. Also both their best friends are married to each other, you would have thought they might been able to realise the mistake instead of taking sides.
I really enjoyed the previous book, Tangled, told from Drew's point if view - this one just didn't work as well.

What about Charlotte Penfield’s performance did you like?
Charlotte Penfield's narration is excellent, empathic with her character, conveys the story well.

Awesome Second Book
Awesome second book in the series. Another awesome book by Emma Chase.
I love it but does Drew have to be so much of an arse. He is a grown adult and should maybe act like one. I wanted to slap him more than once during this book. I do feel Dee should have caused him some serious pain. Kate on the other hand, I just wanted to wrap her up in a big old hug, like my mum does.
This book is from Kate's point of view. It was good to see the world from her point of view instead of Drew's point of view but I still heard Drew in my head. lol
This couple has an explosive relationship but there is always love but is love enough.
I would recommend this series. Moving on to Tamed now.

Expect the unexpected
We start off right before Tangled ended, this book is told by Kate's perspective, I had the funniest moments with Tangled, so what to expect from Twisted, well twisted moments were coming!
I thought I would laugh so hard with this one too, but no, instead of funny moments, this book is all about drama and misunderstandings! A big turn on life, to think about it, for this couple, I thought they would last forever. They have been together for two years I thought by now, they would trust each other...
Some time along the way I was tired, depressed and thinking if I should or not move forward some chapters... I didn't want to know Kate's drugs or alcohols encounters, met a new Billy it was like a new person and I never ask for.
I guess I was missing Drew. I know, I know, what he did was stupid, selfish again, very extreme. I don't know if I could forgive him! Someone who want's to hurt their soul mate just because you saw something and you believe it's true without thinking it through.
Kate and Drew I thought I knew you, I thought you were stronger and would act like it!
Near the end, they find each other and I'm thinking (again), this was so easy, so much love thrown away because of some kind of betrayal or stupidity, so much drama before and now it was it, didn't felt relieved... One week and that's all, promises, promises... I wanted more, twisted enough yes, sometimes we don't see it's there all this time... but I would never shut up, but that's OK, I understand I'm not everybody and because at last, I had the chance to hear Drew's voice again!
Love to meet Drew Evans and see some of Dee Dee's outfits :)
I recommend this book!

Wish someone would make a movie
Drew & his antics are laugh out loud funny. Great writing style. Sebastian York is the perfect narrator for Drew.
