Publisher's Summary
A fresh, irresistible rom-com from debut author Emma Lord about the chances we take, the paths life can lead us on, and how love can be found in the opposite place you expected.
Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming - mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.
Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.
All’s fair in love and cheese - that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life - on an anonymous chat app Jack built.
As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate - people on the internet are shipping them? - their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.
Praise for Tweet Cute:
"A witty rom-com reinvention...with deeply relatable insights on family pressure and growing up.” (Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, authors of Always Never Yours and If I’m Being Honest)
“An adorable debut that updates a classic romantic trope with a buzzy twist." (Jenn Bennett, author of Alex, Approximately and Serious Moonlight)
Critic Reviews
"From meme wars to social media marketing, Lord accurately depicts various sides of today's online culture. Amid all the digital hoopla is an engaging story about family loyalty and pursuing one's own passions.... A just-right combination of sweet and cheesy." (Kirkus)
"A precursor to the way teen love stories will be told for years to come." (Booklist)
"Lord’s snappy debut features a strong contemporary beat and a host of sympathetic characters." (Publishers Weekly)

Tweet Cute
I saw this book at my local bookstore the cover caught my eye. But I figured I wouldn’t get the chance to read it so I checked to see if it made in to an audiobook. Yay it was.
I really enjoyed the narrators they brought these characters to life. I loved the way they read the book it made me feel the connection to each character.
Pepper and Jack are driven high school students who have that snark and I love. Their high school experience is very different from mine. I enjoyed the parallel to Gossip Girl a little it a fun and easy listen.
I really liked how all the characters fit and gave us a whole picture. It really made the story feel whole.
I will be looking for more from this author.

Cute, fluffy story if you could use a light read
This book is a fun little escape if you're looking for something easy and charming. It's almost an overdose of cute -- cute animal usernames online, cute dessert mashups, cute nicknames, cute people learning cute lessons. It's light and funny, and would be good if you're looking to escape into a silly story for a few hours. In terms of balance, I found it to be heavy on teen drama and high school, and light on the "rom" part of "rom-com." Overall, if you're looking for a classic enemies-fall-in-love story that you can swoon over, this isn't it. This is more about teens with a mutual crush dealing with weird parenting (cartoonishly bad, in some cases), social media (sooo much talk about memes), and the expectations of their expensive, elite high school. Fun banter and great narration kept me listening.

Pretty much what you'd expect
I started out quite liking this book, but I guess the continued levels of saccharine blandness didn't really do it for me. There could have been way more tension between the characters, because most of the book, especially the second half, just felt like an expository waste of time - like the author didn't really know how to resolve the story, so she brought it to a very slow, boring halt. It's a shame because the cute premise was a lot of fun, and at the start I liked the tension between Jack and what's her name, but they both ended up being really boring, and so did their interactions. I listened to the last few chapters on 2 times speed.

Predictable but cute and witty YA rom-com
A predictable but cute and witty YA rom-com, the story is character building throughout and towards the end of the book the main characters were observed to communicate with their parents and think more about their futures which gave the story more to it than "just" a rom-com.

Super sweet!
I’ve been a bit ashamed lately of reading young adult since I feel a bit old for it, but this book had me grinning at work while I listened through a sneaky earbud and I thought, what’s so bad? This book made me happy!
Now, I haven’t finished yet, but Tweet Cute has ticked all the boxes. I’m ever so picky with narration, so both voices suiting the characters and the story was amazing! A few fun cliches mixed with some awesome new ideas and a bouncy sort of storyline, complex enough but not messy, easy to follow, and relatable.
I’m enjoying hearing the characters develop and I’m enjoying the points raised about the academic system and the amusing, quick main characters. I love their interactions. So much. I can’t wait to finish!

Unexpected
This kept popping up in my recommended books but it was a YA so I dismissed it really quickly. However, call it over exposure or possibly just a want for it to shop being suggested to me, I downloaded it and BOY was I glad I did.
Never did this feel too teen for me. It was incredibly well written, had more rising action than I’ve possibly read in a book and was incredibly dynamic, unpredictable and just outright engaging. It’s light, it’s funny, it has more curveballs than expected and the end result came about in an unexpected way.
Highly recommend.
Narrators were on point.

So sweet
The story was easy to listen to and very sweet! It had me cringing and shouting for the story to go a particular way and kept me engaged throughout. I wish the performers had more mature voices but they did a great job at playing all the characters. Parts of the story took a little too long to develop but the storyline was awesome!
