Publisher's summary

Charlotte Lane was the tomboy who lived next door. Eyes the color of the summer sky. Mounds of curly blond hair.

A little bit of sassy and a whole lot of sweet. She was my best friend. My confidant. My salvation.

But when circumstances tore us apart, it put more than just miles between us. I hated her. Blamed her for my worst nightmare. And I never wanted to see her again.

Then one wrong turn brought her back into my life, and now she's under my skin. In the midst of all the chaos surrounding us, she's what's changing me. Practically bringing me to my knees. Driving me to want to be a better man.

Our bond withstood the test of time, but when the future brings the unexpected, it will either draw us closer or tear us apart. Can we weather the storm?

More York and less Bloom

The book would have been so much better had Sebastian York just narrated it. CJ Bloom's voice is so high pitched I was constantly turning the volume down when she was narrating.

The book was a great conclusion from the first book that was such a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed this book but ...

I enjoyed this book but I fought sometimes to stay interested. One long book would have been better. I'm glad I read to the end nonetheless.

Charlotte

That character is the reason I give this a 4! I don't want to give any spoilers but when you listen you will understand!

Book two in the duet

Jasper and Charlotte are back with more angst and mysterious circumstances, only this time the deadly target hits closer to home and the risk to both of their lives increases. As more information unravels about their tragic pasts, their determination to get to the bottom of it all gains speed.
There is a lot more backstory told in this one and you get a lot more character development for both the main and supporting characters. The end was not what I originally thought but as it neared, I kind of suspected it. That did not take away from the story for me. Instead, it gave me a feeling of satisfaction for these two.
As I also had the audiobook to flip to, I found the narrators CJ Bloom and Sebastian York told the story with great animation and really brought it to life.

Twists & turns to a steady finish!

This is the second and final book of the two part series. With Sebastian York narrating approx half of story, it was mmmm..mmmm..good! I thought the first book was better, but this wasn’t bad at all💋

Ending rushed

Book 2 is also drawn out but then extremely rushed at the end. We have been waiting two entire books to find out about this villain and they explain it in about two minutes.
Also, CJ Bloom is just painful to listen to. Overall it was OK I just couldn't wait for it to end. Hopefully she will find a new editor in the books to come.

Great ending & great series!

Great ending to a great series. A couple if kids from across the tracks that had difficult times find each other again and work hard ti make their own HEA. As for narration, wonderful female and as usual, amazing male. After all, we are talking about Sebastian York!!!

Good ending to this duet!

I enjoyed this audiobook more than the first, as it seemed to move at a better pace. The hero and heroine get through all the trials of the story and find their happy ending. The narration was very well done.

Great story

This was a great series, enjoyed the journey with Jasper and Charlie... the ending was my favorite with Jasper (Sabastian York) is the best narrator ❤️

Loved everything about this book. Can't wait to see if she continues the background characters into a series.
