The author Ryan Bow narrates his journey to Japan, Thailand, and other international destinations. His amazing tale will challenge your concept of humanity and make you question your priorities.
From struggling to master the Japanese language and dealing with complex visa laws to remain in the country legally, to working for the Yakuza (Japanese mafia) and making a living as a professional fighter in Japan, this story is about the author’s struggle to survive in a Japanese culture that has little tolerance for Americans who refuse to just fit in.
Through his eyes, listeners will also experience what it’s like to train under Frank Shamrock at the famed American Kickboxing Academy and fight in MMA events on the same cards as UFC stars Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. Furthermore, this memoir chronicles how Ryan survived a life-threatening medical condition.

Amazing Book!
Amazing book!
What an extraordinary life lived by Ryan! No matter what life threw at Ryan he kept his head up and was persistent to what he held in his heart to be true! No matter how hard life got he just kept getting up! His character stayed true to what he loved and wanted, knowing no boundaries of self sacrifice to live his dream! Motivation not just to any Martial arts athlete but to all citizens of the world, of how we all can endure so much with the right spirit and mind set and the hard work and determination to fight for it. Whether that be in sports or business or love...Amazing book by an amazing human being and I'm honored to know his story as well as be one of his many students in fight gods mma in seattle!

A glimpse of the life of a pro MMA athlete
If you’re a fan of MMA , train MMA or interested about Japanese culture this is a great story. Learn about Japan’s culture, and an American fighters journey in the global world of combat sports as well as his trials and tribulations.. Wish it was a longer story but still a great read/listen!!!
