Inflation: What It Is, Why It’s Bad, and How to Fix It explains what’s behind the worst inflationary storm in more than forty years—one that is dominating the headlines and shaking Americans by their pocketbooks. The cost-of-living explosion since the COVID pandemic has raised alarms about a possible return of a 1970’s-style “Great Inflation.” Some observers even fear a descent into the kind of Weimar-style hyperinflation that has torn apart so many nations. Is this true? If so, what should be done? How should we prepare for the future?

Story
The quest for social justice is a powerful crusade of our time, with an appeal to many different people, for many different reasons. But those who use the same words do not always present the same meanings. Clarifying those meanings is the first step toward finding out what we agree on and disagree on. From there, it is largely a question of what the facts are. Social Justice Fallacies reveals how many things that are thought to be true simply cannot stand up to documented facts, which are often the opposite of what is widely believed.

Behind a smokescreen of “preparing students for the new industrial economy,” early progressives had political control in mind. America’s original schools didn’t just make kids memorize facts or learn skills; they taught them to think freely and arrive at wisdom. They assigned the classics, inspired love of God and country, and raised future citizens that changed the world forever. Battle for the American Mind is the untold story of the Progressive plan to neutralize the basis of our Republic—by removing the ingredient that had sustained Western Civilization.

One recent estimate predicts 13 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next seven years - jobs that won't be replaced. In a future marked by restlessness and chronic unemployment, what will happen to American society? In The War on Normal People, Andrew Yang paints a dire portrait of the American economy. Rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation software are making millions of Americans' livelihoods irrelevant.

I Would Vote For Him

Publisher's summary
Donald Trump promised the American people a transformative change in economic policy after eight years of stagnation under Obama. But he didn’t adopt a conventional left or right economic agenda. His is a new economic populism that combines some conventional Republican ideas - tax cuts, deregulation, more power to the states - with more traditional Democratic issues such as trade protectionism and infrastructure spending. It also mixes in important populist issues such as immigration reform, pressuring the Europeans to pay for more of their own defense, and keeping America first.
In Trumponomics, conservative economists Stephen Moore and Arthur B. Laffer offer a well-informed defense of the president's approach to trade, taxes, employment, infrastructure, and other economic policies. Moore and Laffer worked as senior economic advisors to Donald Trump in 2016. They traveled with him, frequently met with his political and economic teams, worked on his speeches, and represented him as surrogates. They are currently members of the Trump Advisory Council and still meet with him regularly. In Trumponomics, they offer an insider’s view on how Trump operates in public and behind closed doors, his priorities and passions, and his greatest attributes and liabilities.
Trump is betting his presidency that he can create an economic revival in America’s industrial heartland. Can he really bring jobs back to the Rust Belt? Can he cut taxes and bring the debt down? Above all, does he have the personal discipline, the vision, the right team, and the right strategy to pull off his ambitious economic goals? Moore and Laffer believe he can pull it off and that Trumponomics will usher in a new era of prosperity for all Americans.

Moore and Laffer are the best!
Very easy to understand explanation of why the economy was so anemic under Obama, and why it is so robust with Trump's policies. I am so thankful these guys were able to shape recent economic policy. I have been a fan of Laffer since I was in college. He has always embodied the positive Reagan message that individuals, when given the freedom to do so, will do more to make things better for themselves, and there fellow beings than can ever be achieved through coercion by a tyrannical dictator, or a well meaning democratic majority.
I wish Moore had made it to the Fed, he is right about deflation being a bigger threat to stable prices than inflation.

Interesting
Very interesting and one of the few books that protect and support President Trump. Interesting and well explained economical decisions pro and against in different moments of Trump Presidency. The author is one of the most respected of course, but the way him (and the other economists that doesnt agree with him for that matter) put the questions of how US will keep its superpower status is wrong on my point of view. US economy have to invent itself and be strong at home first, and only than can care to compare in the world. A happy and wealthy US citizen should be the aim of the economy. Than the status should follow. By only competing with words and trade tariffs may create problems for a chinese or europian citizen
but will not help (in contrary will hurt) the US citizen.

Biased and skewed
If you are an elitist, looking to justify supporting tax cuts to the wealthy and are out of touch with average americans... you will love this book. I don't know how many facts in here are skewed vs. lies. Brutal to listen to, but I'm trying to finish it anyway. If you research objective economists, without an agenda, we either cut taxes and basically have no social services like Medicaid or Medicare, or we raise taxes to pay for those services. We can't have both. even if Trump's policies created economic growth to GDP, the numbers show his policies have further grown the national debt because tax cuts can not stimulate the economy ENOUGH to generate enough revenue to replace or improve lost tax revenue. This almost ignores the growth of the national debt, and the issue of income inequality in this great country in order to promote Trump's policies. Sad...

Brilliant Justification for Ignorance
If you want to understand the reasoning behind the alt Right-wing phenomenon happening globally, this is the perfect book for you.
Hear Stephen Moore and Arthur B Laffer disregard the world’s leading historians and scientists to justify their return to a pre WW1 world. Promoting coal, tax cuts for the ultra wealthy, nationalism, tariffs and no safety net for the poor.
The brilliant piece of ignorance and idiocy.

Robert B. Reich urges Americans to get beyond mere outrage about the nation’s increasingly concentrated wealth and corrupt politics in order to mobilize and to take back our economy and democracy. Americans can’t rely only on getting good people elected, Reich argues, because nothing positive happens in Washington unless good people outside Washington are organized to help make those things happen after the election. But in order to be effectively mobilized, we need to see the big picture.

This book is the compelling story of President Obama’s domestic policy decisions made between September 2008 and his inauguration on January 20, 2009. Unlike all other presidents except Abraham Lincoln - who decided not to allow slavery to expand westward before he was sworn in - Barack Obama determined the fate of his presidency before he took office. The results of these fateful decisions led to Donald Trump taking his place eight years later. This book describes how and why these decisions were made, and discusses whether the outcomes could have been different.

Yes, our country is financially broke, but that’s just a side effect of our broken spirit, our broken faith in government, the broken promises by our leaders, and a broken political system that has centralized power at the expense of individual rights.

Story
In this shocking and groundbreaking new book, economic historian Burton Folsom, Jr., exposes the idyllic legend of Franklin D. Roosevelt as a myth of epic proportions. With questionable moral character and a vendetta against the business elite, Roosevelt created New Deal programs marked by inconsistent planning, wasteful spending, and opportunity for political gain---ultimately elevating public opinion of his administration but falling flat in achieving the economic revitalization that America needed.

Story

Who invented supply-side economics - the idea that cutting tax rates can result in more growth, more prosperity at all income levels, and even more tax revenue flowing into the IRS? Most people would credit the economic team that advised Ronald Reagan in the late 1970s and early 1980s. But in fact supply-side economics came of age two decades earlier. And the first president who embraced it was one of the biggest icons of the Democratic Party - John F. Kennedy.

Hostile Takeover is a rebellious challenge to the "upper management" of government, who are choking American prosperity and liberty. Matt Kibbe exposes the privileged collusion of Washington insiders - and maps out a proven plan for how to return power from the self-appointed "experts" back to the people. Dubbed "one of the Tea Party's masterminds" by Newsweek, Kibbe reveals how grassroots citizens can and will check the federal behemoth and restore the American enterprise.

Story
This book is the compelling story of President Obama’s domestic policy decisions made between September 2008 and his inauguration on January 20, 2009. Unlike all other presidents except Abraham Lincoln - who decided not to allow slavery to expand westward before he was sworn in - Barack Obama determined the fate of his presidency before he took office. The results of these fateful decisions led to Donald Trump taking his place eight years later. This book describes how and why these decisions were made, and discusses whether the outcomes could have been different.

Story
America faces a new culture war. It is not a war about guns, abortions, or gays; rather it is a war against the creeping changes to our entrepreneurial culture, the true bedrock of who we are as a people. The new culture war is a battle between free enterprise and social democracy. Many Americans have forgotten the evils of socialism and the predations of the American Great Society's welfare-state programs.
