Publisher's summary

A new, emotionally riveting, sexy standalone romance by New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster. Watch mysteriously sexy Bear Whiskey claw his way to his happily-ever-after with sassy, rebellious Crystal Moon.

Eight months is a long damn time to have the hots for a woman who keeps a guy at arm's length. But Crystal Moon is no ordinary woman. She's a sinfully sexy, sass-mouthed badass, and the subject of Bear Whiskey's midnight fantasies. She's also one of his closest friends.

Just when Crystal thinks she has her life under control, scorching-hot, possessive, aggressive, and fiercely loyal Bear pushes all her sexual buttons, relentless in his pursuit to make her his.

The more Bear pushes, the hotter their passion burns, unearthing memories for Crystal that are best kept buried. But there's no stopping the collision of her past and present, catapulting the two lovers down an emotional and sexually charged road that has them questioning all they thought they knew.

3.5 STARS.. SACCHARIN SWEET, SEXY & DRAMA-LITE

This is an introduction into the Whiskey clan where all the men are part-time bikers and they are a tight loving and loyal family group who would defend each other to the hilt.. or die trying. I haven't listened to it but the 33 yr old sexy hero Bear is first introduced in the book Tru Blue where he first meets sassy 30 yr old Crystal and he's forever hooked. This book starts off 8 months later and Bear has been steadily trying to woo and wear Crystal down - but he doesn't yet realize that she has erected some very high walls to protect her and a bitter secret that has, understandably, changed her. She puts on a hardass front which hides her sensitive heart but very slowly Bear's caring, supportive, attentive, loyal and very tempting self allows Crystal to start opening up, to start trusting, to start feeling and to finally let her walls crumble.

Bear does this by one touch, one conversation, one look and one thoughtful step at a time and this saintly sexy hero deserves an award for his patience, his unwavering understanding and his devotion which truly was remarkable. Crystal took a long time before she'd finally let Bear touch her and, once she slowly allowed her bases to be touched, sexy times followed. Although this is very much a relationship driven story, strong family values and demands are also present.. as well as a broken family who still hold on to secrets.

I'll be honest, it took me a little while to warm to this storyline because it robbed me of the h/h's first meeting and their first feelings.. but I slowly got over it and, for the most part, I enjoyed it. BUT it was sweet enough to give you cavities and it dragged a bit because there was simply no drama.. no angst.. no heated words.. and no misunderstandings. As the chapters slowly bled into each other I thought ok this is all very touching but where's the rocky road.. the rollercoaster.. the bad guy..? no, then what about an argument.. a hiccup.. or even a swear word? - but alas none of the above. It had plenty of heart and heat which I loved and some emotional baggage too which was all good but, for me, it was missing a little bit of drama. This is standalone but I think that I personally would have preferred to listen to it after Tru Blue because of the h/h's first meeting - and because some of the other characters were first introduced in that book. Dual POV's and the narrator did a good job.

Worth a credit? Well that depends on what you're looking for.. I got it in the sale and enjoyed it - but I just didn't love it. However, I did love long-suffering Bear who went above and beyond any previous hero to make his lady happy.. and the lucky woman was very very happy in the end.

What a great book!

I really enjoyed this well written story. This was the second book by this author that I have read, and both were engaging enough that I look forward to many more. I stumbled upon the first of this series, True Blue by chance and truly decided to give it a shot because it also had the audio option. I am so glad I did! I can not wait for the rest of this Whiskey clan to get their stories told. The narrator really brings this character to life. Good job to both author and narrator!

WHISKEY PLEASE!!

I think I deserve a shot of whiskey for finishing this one!

I've been wanting to listen to Melissa Foster for some time now, and finally took a chance, but I have to be honest.... between the narration, and the story, I almost return this audio. Luckily, I made it to chapter six where the plot finally started getting interesting. It a was sweet story, and I really liked Bear's character; however, there really wasn't much that was exciting, interesting or engaging. I actually zoned out a few times. There was a back story on the heroine, and she had to live with the aftermath, but it wasn't delivered in away that gave it any intensity. This story may be perfect for someone who doesn't like a lot of angst or steamy romance, but for me, I like my stories to make me feel all types of emotion whether their happy, sad or angry.... I just didn't feel anything with this one. I gave the story three stars because I didn't dislike it.

Paul Woodson has a deep rich voice which made it a little hard for me to distinguish between the characters and the emotions. I tried adjusting the speed up and down, and finally settled for 1.25x the speed. It took a couple of hours, but I finally got used to his voice, and narration style.

For Melissa Foster's fans, this may be worth a credit, but I wouldn't recommend using a credit.... sale maybe.

Oh Bear, you're seriously SWOONY!!!

Seriously, where have I been? How did I not know that Melissa Foster has released the other books in this series? I’m just dying that I waited so long to read/listen to the Whiskey clan. Just a man that sits on a bike and loves his woman so whole-heartedly makes me swoon insanely hard! I love that Melissa Foster gives us a story that doesn’t need drama and/or fights. That isn’t to say there isn’t trouble in paradise… but it’s understandable. Bear is a perfect name for him… he’s adorably sweet and can steal your heart right from your chest. I’m smitten, completely smitten!! It is a slow delicious burn and I seriously recommend listening to the first book in the series before this one.

Paul Woodson did a good job narrating Truly, Madly, Whiskey. He narrates both a male and female POV and while it isn’t my preferred method, Woodson did a fabulous job. He really has this deep, delicious voice and I really didn’t mind having him purring in my ear!!

Truly Sweet & Flirty

A sweet and flirty romance between two creative and genuinely nice people. This is marketed as a stand alone book but it incorporates characters from a previous book. I actually liked it more because I prefer series. These characters -family and friends- are a dynamic cast, and create a warm background for a beautiful love story.

Sweet, heartwarming and steamy

I loved Bear and Crystal’s beautiful and healing love story. It was full of passion, sweetness, acceptance and love. It will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions - expect to laugh, cry, swoon, cringe, grit your teeth and cheer. Crystal is a clothing designer who works with her best friend in a children’s costume and party shop. Bear is a motorcycle designer and helps to run his family’s businesses. For eight months Bear has been patiently, lovingly pursuing the prickly, skittish Crystal. I really loved the way Bear gently, lovingly, and beautifully helped Crystal come out of her self-imposed prison, come to terms with her past, and begin to shine. On their way to their HEA, Bear and Crystal have to both deal with their past choices and their scars and it’s a beautiful journey to witness. The story included sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. All of Melissa Foster’s books have a central theme of family who accept you as you are - those we are born into and those we create. This book is no different. I love Melissa’s characters and families. They always feel like home. And I am so looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Paul Woodson did a phenomenal job narrating and breathing life into the story and the characters with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Biker with a heart of gold!

I loved book one of the Whiskey series, Tru Blue. But I FLOVE Bear and Crystal!!! Past traumas have left Crystal wary to trust, especially when it comes to men and romance. When Bear sees Crystal he is instantly entranced. Fate and mutual friends keep throwing them together; despite trying to resist his charms, Crystal finds the badass biker with a sweet side intriguing.

I love the Whiskeys, they are unique family and community-oriented white hat bikers. If a protective, growly, cinnamon roll biker is a thing, Bear Whiskey is the A+ example! Crystal is the bombshell costume designer with walls on top of walls. Bear’s friendship, compassion, and patience creep through her defenses and the way her world evolves is truly heartwarming.

I really enjoyed Paul Woodson’s solo narration. I could listen to his rumbly timbre all day! His voice and cadence are perfect for the lovable, gruff, sweet-humored biker. All of his character voices are distinct and such a treat!
