Predictable, boring, pure clichee

I wanted to give this author a try, but this will definitely be the only book. I tried but could not finish it.

The characters were absolutely clichee, sometimes the predictable descriptions made me cringe.
And the narrator made the whole thing even worse.

Beautiful Love Story

A great listen. I loves the main characters Nick and Shayla. They were like moths to a flame. The book was smartly written and enticing.

Love this story

I read this story years ago and bought the audible years ago as well, but it looks like I never wrote a review here. Love the story and Shayla and Nick are one of my fav couples, but I hated the narration. While he has a lively voice, the recitation of the book is so low and choppy. He reads it like he’s just learning to read. I just listened to the book again because I wanted to re-live the story on a long car ride, but it was painful to say the least. Id love to get more of Brenda audibles, but I can’t with this narrator. Hopefully he got better as time goes on, but I can’t take the chance. I bought 2 or 3 books and I just can’t buy anymore. I live Brenda and her books too much.

Love the twist

I was a little concern when I realized there will be twists, but it came together nicely with all the romance and sex I expect and love from her books.

Made me cringe

Would you try another book written by Brenda Jackson or narrated by Pete Ohms?

No

What was most disappointing about Brenda Jackson’s story?

It's hard to pin point one thing. The story was ok (ish) but the constant cringe worthy sex and the pace at which the characters fell in love to the point of marriage was unbelievable. The way the main male character spoke to his 'true love' actually made me flinch.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Pete Ohms?

A female reader would have been better

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I was intrigued to hear how it finished

Office Politics

Daft wee romance where a lady, determined to avenge her mother, joins the company that sacked her and led to her destruction. She's going to bring the company down, if only she wasn't attracted to the boss, haha.
