Publisher's Summary

True Believer: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

Part love story, part ghost story, True Believer is an unforgettable romance about believing in the impossible, trusting in fate, and unraveling the mysteries of the human heart.

As a science journalist with a regular column in Scientific American, Jeremy Marsh specializes in debunking the supernatural - until he falls in love with the granddaughter of the town psychic.

When Jeremy receives a letter from Boone Creek, North Carolina, about ghostly lights appearing in a cemetery, he can't resist driving down to investigate. Here, in this tightly knit community, Lexie Darnell runs the town's library. Disappointed by past relationships, she is sure of one thing: her future is in Boone Creek, close to all the people she loves. From the moment Jeremy sets eyes on Lexie, he is intrigued. And Lexie, while hesitating to trust this outsider, finds herself thinking of him more than she cares to admit. Now, if they are to be together, Jeremy must do something he's never done before - take a giant leap of faith.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Distracting

I tired to get past the music to hear the story but it was so interruptive and distracting. Not for me, just couldn’t “listen” to the actual story with all the noise.

The music is distracting

The music is distracting and unnecessary. I had to stop listening. There should be a no music option. Wasted a credit. :(

Good book terrible recording !

This was the worst recording I’ve ever purchased. It had many glitches, skipped parts, repetitive and stuttering parts. It truly was not the usual audible quality!

Sound effects

I loved the story but really did not like the music and sound effects going on in the background. The soap opera music was, at times, dramatic. Books for me are what I picture in my mind as I am reading or listening. I really don't need motor sounds and crickets distracting me.

music is distracting. often breaks up and skips

the story is good however the addition of the music is little bit louder than it should be and distracting. the diversion often skips lines and words like it in old record on a wobbly table.

Good story

The soundtrack in the back was really distracting and there was a lot of digital skipping. The voice/reader did a nice job and the story was lovely.

Compelling, but skipped

As always, Sparks delivers with a dreamy summer read (listen). Picked up this audio version for the road trip to the beach.

The only reason I rated 4 stars is due to recording quality. There are chapters that skip, similar to what you would experience with scratched CD. Was on wi-fi the whole time, and even replayed the skipping chapters to double-check.

Overall, highly recommend!

Sound quality

The sound quality was horrible, it cut out half a dozen times and I missed bits and pieces due to that. The story was fantastic!

Not a fan of the background music.

Music seemed distracting. Quality of recording was poor. Words would "skip" like a broken record.
