When the skeletal remains of three young women are discovered on the vacation estate of a US senator, Special Agent Gabe Sullivan and local forensic sketch artist Mackayla Kensington team up to solve the murders.

A profiler for 14 years, Gabe knows his skills are useless until they discover the identity of the victims. As the two begin to work the case together, Gabe finds himself fascinated by Mackayla's strength and her ability to bring life to her sketches. Her free spirit and the way she finds joy in the simple things has him taking stock of his life.

Mackayla's faith sustained her during the darkest moments of her life. The brutal murder of her own daughter is the driving force behind her dedication to families' missing loved ones. Using her artistry skills, Mackayla works frantically to put faces to the skulls so their identities can be revealed. But when the killer realizes how good she is, she may be the next to die....

Wounded Heroes 2
Narrated by Leonor A Woodworth

Summary:
When the bodies of 3 women show up in a US senator’s back yard, FBI Special Agent Gabe Sullivan crosses paths with Mackayla Kensington, a freelance forensic sketch artist.
Additional Comments:
• Of course, Gabe and Mackayla are attracted to each other. And of course, there’s a killer out there trying to kill the lady. The book fits the formula perfectly and still works.
• Seems everybody in the book has a tragic past, except the bad guy.
• It’s not quite money and power = evil, but it’s pretty darn close.
• The PI side was a bit of a stretch in that it relied upon a few convenient things, but that’s fine.
• Characters are likable. They’re not super memorable, but they’re likeable.
• Performance fell in the decent realm.
• Clean book. Christian themes were reasonably well handled. There’s one questionable use of God’s name, but I don’t think the character meant it that way.
• There’s not much suspense. Things happen, but one never really gets the feeling Mackayla could be in real danger.
• It’s a fine story. I would read more by the author.
• The title doesn’t make much sense to the story. It fits the genre okay though.

Conclusion:
If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense and have a free afternoon, this is a light one. Go for it.

This is the second book in this series. I can not say enough good about this book. There has been bodies found in the yard buried at a house that's owned by a senator. Special Agent Gabe Sullivan is assigned to the case. They call in a forensic artist to help identify the bodies. One thing that made this book so good is the way they worked together. Right from the start it was easy to understand and get wrapped up in the storyline. Just excellent writing and narrating. Gabe and Mackayla Kensington works great together and start liking each other. Leonor woodworth does a great job narrating this book. The mystery and solve were more of a background to the story. Not a lot of police or FBI procedure. However, this makes it a lot harder to pick apart. 😉
Great characters and a pretty tight story made it an interesting listen. So much so that without a break, I am on to the next in the set.

Great!
