Acerca de esta escucha
Volume 10 of the Tom Swift series finds our hero building a new airship and taking it to Africa, where he hunts elephants with his new electric rifle and rescues two missionaries from a savage and crafty tribe of red pygmies. Please remember that this book was published in 1911, and attitudes and language acceptable at that time are not politically correct today.

Nostalgia and fun, but not much else.
Would you try another book from Victor Appleton and/or John Michaels?
Probably not.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It's not that it's a bad story. Yes, it's dated (written over 100 years ago) and I expected that; but it was just a little flat, even for this type of early 20th-Century, young-man-on-an-adventure type book.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He sounded far too old for the young protagonist and it was distracting.
Do you think Tom Swift and His Electric Rifle: Daring Adventures on Elephant Island needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
There were a lot of "continuing adventures" of Tom Swift written.
Any additional comments?
Not bad. Not great. If you are nostalgic for the books you read as a kid in the '70s or even earlier, it'll be an enjoyable diversion and that's it.
