Excellent Review of a Forgotten WW1 Front
This was a a a very well researched and written book regarding a forgotten front occurring in World War I. I had not read much about the African front in World War I prior to this, and found this not only informative and well written, but a true education. Anyone with an interest in World War I or military history would do well to listen to this book.

Even more reason to say " Lest We Forget".
Excellent historical book on this military campaign little understood or known about. Well read with minor mispronounced names. A well balanced account of this important campaign.
in conclusion, Von Lettow Vorbeck achieved his aim of tieing up massive allied men and materials for over 4 years..

The forgotten front
a detailed account of ww1 in east africa well researched and written with a mass of facts and footnotes. really needs 2 listens to fully digest.

Great work; shame about the footnotes!
This was a fascinating account of an unfairly-neglected aspect of WW1. The book is full of detail and insight, and I learned a huge amount from it. HOWEVER, the all-too-frequent diversion/nterruption of the narrative when the narrator (for some unknown editorial decision) decides to read out a footnote in full - and there are many of them - is infuriating. I found myself losing all sense of the *big picture" and got so fed up with it after a few chapters that I took to skipping forward by 30sec to a minute each time I heard the narrator pause and say "Footnote". For me, this spoiled an otherwise excellent book.
