Music to my ears

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The narrative is as beautiful as the story itself. I've written a full review for the paperback edition of Tiny Instruments. The same holds, here as well. I can't imagine someone who won't fall in love with Tc5. The creativity is really detailed. Aside from being a story that is moving, it builds a world that really draws the reader in. Though the story is self contained and does offer a resolution, I wouldn't mind reading a part 2 of this. Highly recommended.

What other book might you compare Tiny Instruments to and why?

I could compare it's exploration of human behavior to the Hobbit, though I like this one more to be frank. I know that's a bold statement, but that's just what I think. The writing is in a league of its own. I haven't come across such quality in a really long time and I would not hesitate to mention this author in the same vein as some of the greats.

What does Phil Mayes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Well, I recognized the beauty of the writing when I read the book very early on, but Phil Mayes' voice narration really amplified that quality. The prose is so lyrical and elegant. Like I said, music to the ears.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many. I don't want to ruin any part of the book for a new reader, so I will refrain from giving specifics. But there were many. All I will say is that you will cry.

Any additional comments?

Really looking forward to another work from this author.
