With only the faintest of trails to follow and a suspicious group of federal agents gunning for him, Mac dives underground, taking only a stash of cash and a small arsenal with him on his undercover mission. Before long, Mac’s deep in the forgotten corners of Minneapolis sniffing for any sign of Crosetti, unable to rest until he gets results.

Combining engaging humor and wit with action-packed storytelling, Housewright’s second Mac McKenzie novel is clever, compelling, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Dear God: Please let this man write another book soon and please let me be here to listen to it. I can't say something like 'even his worst book is good' because I can't think of anything he's done that is worse than anything else.

Before I post this list I have to say that Sandford, Parker and MacDonald are EXTRA special. And Richard Ferrone as John Sandford's voice is an amazing match. Like George Guidall with Craig Johnson and pretty much anything George reads.

Robert B. Parker lived in this space for me as did John D. MacDonald, Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, John Hart, Craig Johnson, John Lescroart, William Kent Krueger Ridley Pearson ,and Jonathan Kellerman. Some others are really good but these guys have something special. If you are into mystery-thrillers I just gave you a back catalog I wish I could have...but I HAVE had it and it is an incredible treasure. I stopped going to libraries and swap places just so I can encourage these guys by sending them money. Please enjoy.

The reader and the author did a fantastic job. The story was easily followed and kept my attention.

Looking forward to the rest of this series...

I really like this well written series. This is the second out of a 17 book (so far) series that is just now being made into an audiobook. As of now books 1-9 are scheduled for release about one/month over the next few months and then book 17. I hope 10-16 will also be released soon. This is a good solid procedural as are the others. Each book can easily be listened to as a stand alone. Except for an occasional pay phone the series is pretty current.
Brett Hinkley does a great job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
