Publisher's summary

In the latest addition to the acclaimed Pierce Hunt series, Hunt races across Europe to stop an ever-changing threat to national security before it’s too late to save his country or his friends.

When the CIA calls on former Army Ranger Pierce Hunt to find a missing operative and friend, the last thing he wants to do is leave the peace of home and family behind. But there’s more to this mission than meets the eye, and Hunt knows he has no choice but to risk everything to save his friend and protect his country.

Hunt’s target is Jorge Ramirez, who allegedly has information that poses a threat to the national security of the United States. As Hunt tracks Ramirez in Switzerland, he learns that someone close to his operation has betrayed the CIA. His team is attacked, and not everyone makes it out alive.

Facing betrayal on an international scale, Hunt doesn’t know who to trust. The rules of engagement have changed, and the body count is rising. Will he find out the truth in time, or will this be Hunt’s final mission?

Awesome series..

Great read! I love Pierce Hunt and his team of friends. I was sorry about some of the good guys who were killed and the torture that Charlie Henican went through. BUT I wasn't sorry about what happened to what happened to Walter Helms, the jerk.

A slight tough of romance and the F-bomb was used 21 times.

As for the narrator: Bon Shaw does a great job with this book.

Another great addition to the series

Time to Hunt is the third book in Simon Gervais’ Pierce Hunt series. Technically, this could probably stand on it’s own. However, there is a lot of backstory from Hunt Them Down and Trained to Hunt that would make this much more enjoyable.

Pierce Hunt, Anna, Leila, and Sophia are enjoying life as a blended family in the Bahamas. However, as the ending of Trained to Hunt teased – Hunt’s friend Charlie Henican has gone missing during an op and the CIA want Hunt’s help rescuing him.

Again, Gervais weaves several stories, that on their own are intriguing and action packed, into an overall arc that builds into an unpredictable grand finale. I love that Gervais is able to continue to add more characters without being superfluous. There’s a leak in the CIA, jurisdiction squabbles, and even family can’t be trusted. Beloved teams members on both sides will be lost.

While there’s a resolution to this mission, not everyone is left feeling their work is done and Gervais doesn’t miss the opportunity to tease another potential Hunt novel. It will definitely be on my TBL.

Bon Shaw’s narration continues to be fantastic. His voices are consistent from the first book and he handles an expanding cast of characters spanning various ages, genders, & accents. He helps make this series binge worthy.

Non-Stop Action

Time to Hunt was just the book I needed. I knew I needed something fast-paced and action-packed and this had both of those in spades. Gervais knows how to write a thriller and this one is definitely one that I won’t forget for a while.

This is the third book in the Pierce Hunt series and reading them in order will definitely help you follow along with the story. Gervais includes enough data from former books (and ops for the guys in the book) so that you’re not completely lost, but the relationships and the way that they are with each other (along with who people are and whether or not Hunt trusts them) is something that the other two books help a lot with.

As I said above, this book was absolutely non-stop action. Every corner held more things and I felt like every time I stopped to catch my breath we were right back in it. I love when a book gives you little windows to breath but even then you never feel like you’re going to catch your breath until it’s finished. Time to Hunt was definitely one of those books.

Of course, this book was made even better by the veteran narrator Bon Shaw (aka R.C. Bray). He does a great job being Hunt along with ramping up the already-at-a-10 action to 11. I’m glad that Gervais and Shaw were able to work together again for this series and I hope, if there are more Hunt titles that Shaw is attached to their audio.

Good Suspense Novel

Better than book 2 of this series.

Reasonably believable situation, excellent action, believable consequences. The protagonist of this book isn't Hunt (who is essentially a supporting character, though he is the "good guy"). The actual protagonist (who will not be named for spoiler reasons) exhibits a very interesting character arc.

Not truly great, but recommended nonetheless.

hard to tell who was who

this was the conclusion to the series. I will admit the series was good, not great but good.
in this last one the attempt to maintain mystery failed. it would have been better if he had just kept to the suspense and told the story.
between the poor narrating and poor character development it was hard to tell who or what was going on. it was difficult to deferential between the bad guys and the so called good guys.
I did appreciate the author's effort to wrap things up. he didn't leave any unanswered questions or loose ends. if he develops a new series I will read it.

Bon Shaw is Excellent

Put this book on your list to read! A great thriller with all of the right characters. Pierce Hunt is pulled into a nasty double-cross that cost the lives of agents and nearly gets him killed. This book is full of action, shoot outs and covert tactics. The Audible performance by Bon Shaw is an excellent add-on to the wonderful writing by Simon Gervais.
