Very different from the others in a good way

This book is very different than the ones who are suggested below it on Audible.
This book is written by an intellectual who is smart, decent, down-to-earth, non-judgemental who happens to be an ex-sex worker.
Don't get me wrong. She is not like the ones who try to convince you the industry is bad either.
I mean it's definitely like the superficial ones who call themselves sugababe or a heaux.
OK, I'm not doing a very good job describing it :) just give it a try. Your mental health will thank you.
And thank you Lola. You helped me. You really did.

Great book!

It’s great for first time SWs or anyone interested in the SW world. this book gives great perspective! I finished feeling more educated and prepared.

Something to relate to

I like listening to these stories and pieces of advice because as a SW, people don't really talk about all aspects of the life. Somebody needs to say it and here it is. It's all very true and is helping me get by mentally and emotionally.

Yes, I am a sex worker. I am proud of who I am and what I do. However, it can be very lonely. The stigma we face can put us in terribly violent, scary and isolating situations.

Lola is our Patron Saint. She never forgets to tell us that we are human. We are loved. We deserve respect. She is held in such high regard in our community.

Here I am running late for an appointment. Listening to Lola tell stories that I have lived. I feel like we are engaging in a private conversation. Just for me.
