Great book!

It’s great for first time SWs or anyone interested in the SW world. this book gives great perspective! I finished feeling more educated and prepared.

Very different from the others in a good way

This book is very different than the ones who are suggested below it on Audible.
This book is written by an intellectual who is smart, decent, down-to-earth, non-judgemental who happens to be an ex-sex worker.
Don't get me wrong. She is not like the ones who try to convince you the industry is bad either.
I mean it's definitely like the superficial ones who call themselves sugababe or a heaux.
OK, I'm not doing a very good job describing it :) just give it a try. Your mental health will thank you.
And thank you Lola. You helped me. You really did.

Something to relate to

I like listening to these stories and pieces of advice because as a SW, people don't really talk about all aspects of the life. Somebody needs to say it and here it is. It's all very true and is helping me get by mentally and emotionally.

Yes, I am a sex worker. I am proud of who I am and what I do. However, it can be very lonely. The stigma we face can put us in terribly violent, scary and isolating situations.

Lola is our Patron Saint. She never forgets to tell us that we are human. We are loved. We deserve respect. She is held in such high regard in our community.

Here I am running late for an appointment. Listening to Lola tell stories that I have lived. I feel like we are engaging in a private conversation. Just for me.

I suggest purchasing the audio version. You won’t regret it.

Interesting listen

I got this book because I wanted to know in more detail what sex workers had to deal with. A lot of this was common sense and things I’ve heard from interviews, but I feel like it would be a great resource for the target audience: sex workers new to the field. Pretty cool listen!

A must listen for anyone curious about the 'biz'

Almost anyone you know could be a sex worker. Lola is the perfect representation of an intelligent, multi-skilled and highly functioning human being who brings to light her experience in the adult industry. If you are a sex worker, you MUST take note of her advice. If you know someone who is a sex worker or have simply enjoyed adult content in its various forms, you will leave with a greater respect and understanding of the wonderful people in the industry.

Such a Necessary Read & Re-Read for Any Sex Worker

Lola did an incredible job with this piece! Not only is her voice very relaxing, but her calm way of communicating the importance of safety, saving money, & self care would make any sex worker looking for support feel as if they truly have someone in their corner when reading this book!

Lola's message was very clearly and calmly communicated and I enjoyed every minute so much so that I decided to read the book again. In the process, I discovered what a GEM chapter 48 is and listened to that over and over. It's a chapter where Lola goes into detail about the psychology of boundary-pushers and how to make your boundaries clear safely and sweetly. That was one area that I particularly have been struggling with in my journey!

Really good

This book is grounding, comforting, and exactly what people in the industry needs. SW’s are encouraged to stay safe and be themselves. More of this is needed in the world. I appreciate her being vulnerable and putting the ins and outs out there for everyone to learn from.
