Traveling alongside these men on their separate journeys with their unique personalities is a treat like no other book can deliver.

This book was really great! When you title a chapter concerning the Battle of the Alamo with the word “Apotheosis,” you know you’re in for something special. The climax of the battle within this book provided the perfect meeting place of all three stories. For a 27 hour long audiobook, you have to know it might be a slow burn. The narrator was natural and felt a great fit for the story being told. My issue is this: I am not Texan by birth, and as such my knowledge of the three men discussed in this book was limited. The information in this book was incredibly detailed. But with little precursor of the three men, it was hard for me to place the immense amount of information in a place where I could connect some dots and retain the information. Therefore, my advice would be this if you find yourself in a situation like me: find a shorter book with a broad overview, then come to this book for the details. I would like to return to this book at a later time to refresh myself and retain more of the information. I hope this review helps.
