Timothy lived a life only a psychopathic sociopath could enjoy and understand. When he was bitten on the first day of the zombie-apocalypse he turned the tides on a single-minded virus he affectionately called Hugh. Together they terrorized a city before seemingly meeting their untimely demise. Nobody could have foreseen his resurrection. Tim's close call with death has done nothing to temper his missions in life, to live, to eat and to rule the world. Tim is back and he's an asshole.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

as riveting as the others
Zombie Fallout 10: Those Left Behind is as riveting as the others. From day one, it has been clear that Mike Talbot is unique and is full of witty sarcasm. He continues to hold the world and fate of his loved ones in his hands knowing that one mistake or judgment can bring it all crashing down around him. We say goodbye to some longtime favorites and witness the return of some not so favorite people (will not spoil anything here). BT proves himself more than capable of handling Knox in a hilarious yet unique manner then stepping aside so Mike and Knox can measure who has the biggest ... and most believable lie in a standoff.
I have watched Mark Tufo grow as a writer working his audience without mercy subjecting them to moments of humor, darkness and sarcastic wit. He weaves his stories well and connects them expertly. Tufo grows suspense even when you know what’s going to happen next because he puts a slight spin on it eliciting a “I really didn’t see that one coming” response. His characters continue to grow and show more of their true colors and intestinal fortitude. Tufo has created and grown Talbot, BT, and Trip in many ways making them seem more life-like. I would not be surprised to see Talbot, BT and Trip being selected, hands down, as the best folks to be stranded with in an apocalypse.
Tufo, as usual, keeps his listeners off-balance but this time with an unlikely frenemy that has turned over a new leaf ... Don’t miss this book, the darkness is beginning again but more intensely and with gripping action. As a storyteller, Tufo is an artisan who hones his skills and books with precision – his internal dialogues are excellent and unfortunately for some of us – right on the money realism wise!
As usual the narrator, Sean Runnette takes the book and owns it Talbot style. He draws the listeners in and holds them there with his talent and skill at projecting Mike, BT and the other characters to perfection. His voice is clear and he drops Talbot witticisms skillfully, almost as if second nature.

HILARIOUS AND GRIPPING!! UH OH THERE'S A CLIFFY!!!
Would you consider the audio edition of Those Left Behind to be better than the print version?
Always is....Unless Sean can come and read it from the book for me, sitting on my couch...lol
What other book might you compare Those Left Behind to and why?
You cant compare Mark...Mark is a weirdo, and that is why us weirdo's love him!!!
Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favorite?
Always Trip!!! lol Then Mike, Then Bt!!!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Oh this whole series needs a movie...or a tv show...Netflix Original Hulu...something!!! I would watch religiously!!!!
Any additional comments?
I love Mark Tufo...he not only is a talented author, he is a great person...his wife is too...she would have to be to deal with his craziness...lol And Sean Runnette IS the one and ONLY Mike Talbot!
The group is just barely making it...but they are survivors and Mike will always fight for his friends and family...The Beginning of this book with the Deneaux scene..WOW...I was Like SERIOUSLY? She is sooo evil...but I did not want that to happen to her...and she recovered like a champ..she really is cold blooded...and there is seriously something going on between her and Mike...they are developing a kind of kinship that is creepy crazy...and Trip is really communing with something supernatural..I think we may even see some sort of crossover universe happening here soon...
MAJOR CLIFFY ENDING!! LOL I know that makes some people angry...but I dont mind a cliffy...that just tells me the story isn't over yet, and that makes me very happy!!!
GREAT LISTEN AND SUPER COOL SERIES...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT..AND EVERYTHING MARK TUFO WRITES..JUST 1 CLICK THEM ALL...THANK ME LATER!!!

Love it but getting kinda old
Now this has got to be one of my favorites and most unique book series that i have listened to. That being said my god it is getting a bit stale. Mike is an awesome character but he is stagnant ( never changing) an i guess that was the appeal from book series to book series he was who he is. Which is fine but he also never gets better even after he became a half vamp. In the book he is kind of the game changer guy that when he shows up everyone is like thing will be ok now that he has arrived. The thing is Mike has no more skills then the next man i would go as far as to say he has less skills then most. What he does have a superabundance of is LUCK!!! and only that. In adventure after adventure book after book he is just the luckiest guy in the room. He only survives every single situation and i mean every single he has ever been in all of the book series by the skin of his teeth. And it's getting kinda old. I long for Mark to write a hero who is just a little more competent and can handle his s**t stuff(you know what i mean). The only reason i don't think i could take Mike Talbot is because i am afraid he will trip fall on his ass and causing he gun to go off with a direct shot into my forehead which will then Ricochet and kill everyone else in the room except himself but the bullet does graze his calf because he isn't Mike without some bad luck as well.

So disappointed
My husband and I have been waiting excitedly for this book to be released, he drives a lot for work and I'm home by myself so we like to listen to the same books and talk about them, I'm sad to say this was my first disappointment in any of the Mark Tufo series we've listened to (Zombie Fallout, Indian Hill and Lycan Fallout). It seems it was a fluff book, something to just put out there without any substance, like the people were begging for another book so he threw one out there. And also, I don't know if anyone thought this too but we did : POSSIBLY SKIRTING A SEMI SPOILER - Did anyone else think that Knox sounded extremely similar to Neegan from The Walking Dead?!?!
Like I said, sooooo disappointed with this one. It was really short too, 21 (or was it 23, can't remember) chapters including all the prologues and epilogues... Go back a few books that were full of substance and you'll see 46 chapters and others in the 30's. Ok, I'll end my rant/boo-hooing, I just literally finished and I'm so bummed I'm actually leaving a review and I never do that! I'm still a fan, I even follow Mark Tufo on Facebook and I'm looking forward to the next Indian Hill book BUT as much as I want it NOW, take your time and make it great!

Not as good as the the 1st few, really dragging it out now. I think the author needs to re-read some of his own work He seems to be forget his own character's back ground and storyline. Seems like he has lost the passion he had when writing the 1st few. Forgive my spelling and punctuation, review via app on cell phone.

One of my FAVORITE series!
I love this series so much. Sean Runette does an amazing job with the narration. I love all of the tangent series off of this one. Mark Tufo is one of the best post-apocalyptic writers out there. I can't get enough of him! Keep cranking out the books! I can't wait for the next ones in each of the Michael Talbot stories!!!!

The best series just keeps going
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but they need to read the whole series
What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Sean Runnette is simply the voice of Mike Talbot....and "strangely" Vivian Denoe couldn't be anyone else's voice
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Any additional comments?
All of the Talbot multiverse books are good (Lycan Fallout, Indian Hill, and even the collaboration with John O'Brian with the Shrouded World books)...
But the ZF series is simply the very best of them.

I nearly put my car into the North Sea listening to the beginning of this book. I hope nobody was watching me laughing away to myself as they passed. Awesome as usual cannot wait for the next instalment.

Fan from the beginning
Would you consider the audio edition of Those Left Behind to be better than the print version?
I've never read the print version as the audio edition provides me with access to listening when I'm driving or something that I listen to when heading off to sleep....yes, listening to the Zombie Fallout series does lull me into a sense of lights out!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love the "keep going" attitude of the main character even when he drives me bonkers with some of his rambo moves followed by the regrets that affect his loved ones.
Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favourite?
I like the nuances of all of the characters that he performs. I'm impressed with how the subtle differences give me a sense of "knowing" those characters on their journey through the series.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
laughed, cried, grumbled, guffawed, angered and omg'd my way through this book!
Any additional comments?
As an avid reader of text, moving into the audio arena of storytelling with this type of narrator and his ability to weave the story are why I keep coming back. The mix of humour/horror/drama/love is why I have enjoyed this book, this series, this author and this narrator. :)

Story
The crew of the SS Jimmy Carter is stranded on the tropical shoreline of Brazil, but Mike Talbot and his squad are not enjoying the beach. The Brazilian government might have failed in the end times, but the jungle is rife with violently patriotic guerrillas—and not the cool banana-eating type. Humans can be reasonable, more or less...but zombies? Not so much. The undead are alive and well in South America, and they are raging.
