A successful editor. A workaholic florist. It's complicated, but is it love?
Kate Carter has it all, except for a special person to share it with. The stylish, charismatic art editor has her sights set on someone, but a few unanswered questions keep her from making a move.
Meg Harding is single but stuck living with her ex. When she meets Kate, she sees a bright light at the end of her life's dark tunnel. But it doesn't take long for the florist's secrets to nearly derail the promising pairing.
Can they overcome the obstacles they can't control to find their happily ever after?
This London Love is a charming lesbian romance novel and a stand-alone spin-off from London Calling. If you like witty dialogue, engaging characters, and addictive plot twists, you'll love Clare Lydon's sparkling romantic comedy.

The narrator was decent, not great. I'm not sure if it was the accent or something else about the voices that she changed, but for me, being American and struggling a bit with the pronunciation and the non-American words, I found that I couldn't distinguish most of the characters at first, and I also ended up having to rewind quite a few times at the beginning of the book to re-listen because I didn't grasp a particular word or phrase.
All in all, I give this book 5 stars - well worth reading and a great pick-me-up book with lots of laughter...and just enough tension and bad stuff to make it all worthwhile.

This is book two in Lydon's London Series, but it can certainly be listened to as a stand-alone. The story revolves around Kate and Meg who both feel like they have been single for way too long. Kate is a successful editor with drive and a quick wit (and a propensity for falling down around beautiful women). Meg is a sweet florist who radiates grace and kindness while being sexy as hell. Of course she doesn't realize she is sexy as hell which makes her character all the more endearing. Both of them have recently suffered broken hearts so they begin their courtship slowly, but drama soon invades their lives (as it happens in any good romance) and makes them question if there is going to be a happily ever after in their future.
Lydon has a very easy going writing style and her prose is smooth with a great British sense of humor. I like the way she moves from one character's point of view to the other's which for some authors seems to be illusive. I really enjoyed the two main characters and they seemed very believable. Their witty banter is delightful and their pairing seemed spot on. I had a silly grin on my face throughout the entire audiobook.
Kate and Meg fit together like peas and carrots and their chemistry is hot, hot, hot. The ancillary characters are really fleshed out as well which isn't always the case in many romance novels. I think this was due in part because I already knew a few of them from reading "London Calling"
I would recommend this audiobook not just because the characters are so engaging, but there are a couple of plot twists that I was definitely not expecting which made this narrative much more interesting than your average romance. As far as I'm concerned, there were no down sides to this audiobook.
The narrator did a good job conveying the characters' change in moods and her delivery on the funny bits was spot on.
Note: The sound quality of the actual audiobook is far superior to the sample that is offered here.
