Publisher's summary

Jessica "Jessie" Allen is sugary sweet and perpetually perky. Running on an endless supply of enthusiasm, she's in constant motion. The people pleaser is running herself ragged to make other people happy, anything to avoid having to figure out what would make her happy.

Devin Bennett is her complete opposite, the immovable object to Jessie's unstoppable force. Jessie is drawn to him like a valley girl to an outlet mall, but Devin dodges her advances better than a UFC fighter. The tall, dark, tattooed, and brooding mechanic hates change and the perky blonde co-ed shoving it down his throat. The longer she's around, the harder it is to keep his hands off her perfect body and his lips away from her sassy mouth.

For the first time in her life Jessie knows what she wants. Devin Bennett. And she's not above torturing him with temptation to make it happen.

Women can save men

I loved that she saved him. So many romance books are a story of a rich man with all the answers. This is a story of a lovable woman with answers to love.

Great Story But...

...I really did like this audio book but I just couldn't get past the female narrator's robotic voice. It took away from what could've been a really great listen overall. =(

Elizabeth Hart Ruins it

I love Teddy Hamilton so I’ll suffer through sucky narrators just to listen to him. I just skip the chapters he doesn’t read unless I need to listen for context. The story was otherwise intriguing, it’s just hard to concentrate on story because of Hart. I feel bad being so negative but she makes me miss a lot of books 😂

The romance did not work

This one didn’t work. The book is meant to be stand alone but there’s technically a book one (titled, So, That Got Weird) which I really liked. This book had the same author and the same narrators but there was something seriously wrong. Teddy Hamilton did a wonderful job as always but Elizabeth Hart sounded wooden and I was annoyed with her voice by the time the book was done. Also, I couldn’t figure out how any romance blossomed between these two characters. They basically bullied each other with behavior that bordered on violent until they were suddenly in love. Even then they kind of seemed to hate each other. All of the scenes where they might get to know each other were missing (aside from a few parts where the “hero” was trying to be mean and scare the “heroine” off but she took it in stride which was a revelation to him). At one point he seemed like he was going to rape her. The heroine character was scared and knew it was messed up but was allegedly so hot for him that she decided to “take what she could get.” When he suddenly realized that she was sentimental about a doll her brothers bought for her, his violent behavior (couched as sex) softened enough to avoid the rape. Up until the Grand Gesture wedding proposal at the end these characters did not trust each other and could not have the simplest conversation. The formula didn’t work. Give it a pass.

Just Meh

3⭐️ 3🌶 I was excited, but it just didn't compare to book one...not even close, unfortunately.
