Through the Huetts' eyes we see the world grow and change, while the patriarch, Logan, clings to his dream of 30,000 cattle. Despite the difficulties, the family demonstrates an ability to overcome all obstacles, including loss of loved ones and family wealth.

Beautiful, especially for the ladies

Young settlers go through many trials and tribulations to survive a barren landscape. Years of effort, fears, and worries to develop a site for kids, cattle, and call it a home.

Such poignant twists due to war, thievery, loss of hope. Zane Grey has as much impact in 2026, a stellar read. Not a lot of cowboy gun battles which i typically love. This one is different yet highly recommend.

One of my favorite books

“30,000 on a hoof” is an excellent well written book. It was a very enjoyable listen. The reading/performance was extremely well done. Hope you take time to enjoy it as well.
