Wonderful end to a really great trilogy. :)
My heart won’t let me give this book anything less than five stars. I started this trilogy on Audible about two years ago when the first book came out, and that book has meant so much to me ever since. The characters are so fun! The action and plot are compelling up until the very end in all three books! And this book’s ending is really touching! I loved Claire’s journey for several reasons, like how she remained self-aware, brave, intelligent and determined the whole way through. It’s rare in YA to have consistent characters like this.. I’ve listened to so many books where the MCs come to be inconsistent or contradictory to some extent. Claire isn’t like that. We learn about her faults but also WHY they exist and WHAT they mean to her. Very special journey. Then there’s the great world building and side development. You could really come to love the crew and all of their quirks till the end of this book. Glyph is well written and hilarious again. Freddy, Lucas, Roger and Abby have awesome chemistry and are very relatable. And Chris? The author made a character who dies before the first book even starts work at every turn. Claires struggle to come to terms with his death was very endearing and heartfelt to discover up until the end. I’m just so happy to have finished this trilogy in a good mood, but I won’t spoil what happens! If anyone comes across this review please check out First Impressions and begin your journey with this trilogy. I sincerely hope someone picks it up and enjoys it as much as I did! Also one last thing: the narrator of these books is just so fantastic! I loved her performance so much and she brought these characters to life in amazing ways. Really good job. I have reviews of the first two books under other account names if anyone reading this wants to know what’s up with the first two books if anyone’s interested. Hopefully there will be more reviews for this trilogy in the future since I seem to be a lone wolf in this regard. Cheers! To Claire and friends: Goodbye!
