Finally a different kind of love story

I picked up this book because of all the fall feels, and I’m so glad that I did. The love story is so sweet, especially being that the main character is autistic as a mother of an autistic young boy. It just melted my heart the thought that he one day will have a beautiful love story and we all deserve to be loved and I just love how great this love story was depicted.

All parties involved are annoying

If I could give this a 2.5 I would. But I’ll settle on a 3. The romance is written pretty well and it has its cute moments. However, both main characters are incredibly insufferable. Can’t seem to communicate with each other and one of the excuses is that one of them is autistic. All of the story is background. As in most of the important thoughts and actions are done in a fade to black type scene, and then jumps back into a story where we have to hear from the characters what happened.

I am not autistic but, I will say this isn’t the representation I would want if I were. Not only is the main love interest mean, but it’s excused with “no but it’s because he has autism”. I don’t think it was done maliciously. I just think it wasn’t intended to read that way.

I melted

Until around chapter 20, I was about to stop listening. But then things got HEATED, and I quite literally MELTED! I would pay a million bucks to watch this as a movie!

MCM Annoyance

The storyline was cute. August annoyed me and I feel like his autism was highlighted negatively throughout the storyline until the end. Still a cute read but he did annoy me.
