Publisher's Summary

Two women are dead. They both look like you.

The giant stretch of frozen river was melting and the light made the lake glitter like crystals. The women lay side by side on the shore, eyes open and glassy. Their long, dark hair was like tangled rope, their faces a reflection of each other....

When two bodies are found dumped in a vast lake in Lakemore, Washington, Detective Mackenzie Price is first on the scene. She identifies one of the victims as Katy Becker, a local known for her work helping the community. The other victim looks strikingly similar.

Still grappling with a shocking revelation from her past, Mack is only too happy to throw herself into the case. But when she goes to break the news to Katy’s husband, the investigation takes an unexpected turn: Katy is very much alive and has never met the women who resemble her so closely.

Now the race is on to find the killer before Katy becomes the next victim. But when Mack unearths a disturbing connection to a 16-year-old suicide, she realizes they could be hunting someone whose crimes span decades - and there are more lives than just Katy’s at stake.

Addictive, pulse-pounding, and packed full of jaw-dropping twists, fans of Lisa Regan, Angela Marsons, and Karin Slaughter will love the Their Frozen Graves.

Better

The performance was a little better than the first one. This was an interesting story and a quick read. So far I like the series.

Half way through - will update review if mind is changed

I am trying so hard to like the main character. But detective Mackenzie is so hard to like, to humor, relate towards, empathize with, or anything to improve her likability. She is so hardened and unyielding and CAN NOT MOVE FORWARD from anything major that happens in her life. She just stays stuck being stubborn and so weary of everyone and everything at all times, is and is a huge B word. She isn’t a good detective but acts like she’s Gods gift to her police force and makes every situation stickier and harder to listen. also she is impossibly stubborn to the point she’s unreasonable and demands the absolute most from everyone around her and is unforgiving towards anyone who slips. The main character matters in a series- this main character doesn’t improve or help her likability, she just gets meaner, harder, more annoying, more reckless, and just ruins the books.

Better than the first in the series

This book doesn’t take as long to get moving as the first one did. It has a better tempo with an interesting storyline. Mac is improving as a character. She is becoming less annoying, but still does something really stupid and again with unnecessary moments of petulance. Still, a decent listen.

This book, like the previous, ends with information to lay down the start of the next book.

Kate Hanford does a terrific job with the narration.

Not expected

I didn’t expect this book to mimic the first book almost the same story. I just wasn’t 15$ for book 2 and it’s pretty much the same story….

Repetitious

Book one and two has almost the same story line. Stay tuned for the next book, pray we’re not doing the same story, because we’re dragging the dad and the cheating husband through two books.

Excellent

This is another great story. Mac is a bit off-putting as the main character, because she isn’t ver warm, but as this series unfolds it’s easy to see why she has built a wall around herself. This is another complicated story, which I thought I had worked until the believable shocking twist at the end. However, I do get fed up with police who go into situations, then feel guilty at the outcome! Really excellent narration by Kate Handford as always.
