Unhinged for sure. Very violent story

I’ve liked all of this authors characters by far but Daphne is a bit much for me. Her psychopathy was able to be endearing as a child but as an adult that plus what seems like adhd & autism and even bipolar disorder makes for a big ol trauma ball dumpster fire.

When there is this much unending drama in a book I’m not sure the reader can keep up with the level of stress without their nervous system either shutting down or exploding.

Hopefully the next book mellows out a little?

There are such rich characters and interesting stories but I guess when I read this kind of fiction (especially existing within the dumpster fire of our current world) I’m hoping for a brain vacation instead of a nuclear meltdown.
I mean Daphne’s stress feels appropriate for her situation but I also feel she doesn’t really want to live, which is probably why she was... tailed. Ha.

In previous series there were also parts that laid a bit heavy on the trauma or go a bit far with the domineering characters.. but I still enjoyed the series as a whole, I don’t see why this should be different.

Lauretta Hignett has done it again. I love these characters. I can't wait to see what happens next.

What a Ride!

Wow! This was such a great book with a new world and so many fantastic characters! I am in love with the dynamic between them and how they are all so different. So often, I was cracking up at the banter! And who doesn't love a murderous goose?


Narration was spot on with accents, different voices, and inflection!

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I highly recommend this story. Lauretta has done it again with her witty and fierce female characters. La The humor in this one is unmatched lol. I laughed out loud on many occasions.
