Publisher's summary

Lidia Reston's magic is fading.

She hopes that a move to Nocturne Falls will help her find out why - and maybe get some of it back. But when a sexy werewolf crashes into her life - literally - she realizes that the quiet life she had planned just flew out the window. And she learns that there's more than one kind of magic.

Harrison Grey has always been clumsy and has been the star of many jokes since he tripped over his first branch. Now, as the owner of a shop selling interesting keepsakes to the tourists, he can at least go about his day without embarrassing himself. Until he tumbles at the feet of a beautiful new resident.

Her humor, and her acceptance, restore his belief in himself. When he learns of her recent loss, he helps her find the person she can be, with or without magic.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Cute story

Cate Dean has written a cute cozy mystery. B. J. Harrison does a nice job of bringing it all to life. I recommend this book/audiobook to fans of cozy mysteries, especially fans of the Nocturne Falls Series.

KEEP IT UP NOCTURNE FALLS

FAST GOOD EASY, YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SHORT STORY LINES AND THE ORIGINAL STORY LINE. BUT, ITS WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY. NEED MORE.

Different

This one was a little different from the others I have read. I wouldn’t call it light hearted and fun. I’m glad they got their HEA. The narrator did his job well as usual!

It is Ok

I adore BJ Harrison. The story was decent, but I had a hard time with the two main characters being completely in love within a space of 20 minutes.

I tried to like it.... but the plot timeline..

Rarely do I write a truly negative review. With the world of Nocturne Falls expanding, I was excited to read the new author stories. This story was problematic from the beginning. I LIKE my fantasy to have a somewhat realistic, or at least believable, timeline. This story failed from the start.

Because of the improbable series of events, I just couldn't get into this story. And I truly WANTED to like it. I will say I liked the new characters (except for the two main characters) that were included in the Nocturne Falls universe.

It's my hope that this author will have a better editor to make the story just a touch more believable. I have to wonder at how fast it was written and accepted. I'm amazed that Kristen Painter approved this story. *sigh*

I can suspend belief with the best of 'em, but this book simply didn't work at all for me. Now I'm contemplating the return of my credit, and most likely will never read another of this author's books, unless the reviews tell me it's worth taking a risk.

Don't read past this point if you don't want potential story spoilers.

Spoiler alerts!!

Within 24 hours of arriving in town she's 'probably in love' with a whiney dude. After running from a psycho boyfriend and driving across country with little sleep?

My brain simply kept saying 'That wouldn't happen that fast...'.. 'But he's acting like a whiney baby'.... etc. Or the 'She a human that just got beat the heck up! She's not gonna go for a romp... ' You get the idea. I'm hoping that a chunk of story got cut, and that the writer isn't as bad as I'm thinking right now.

Too many 'big' things (move, falling in love, meeting the bad guy, getting beat up by bad guy, sex, bad ex boyfriend showing up, losing her magic...) it happened too fast with not enough story in between to support the large changes.

Confusing

The story doesn't really make sense. Noone out of a bad relationship jumps into fondling in the streets within an hour of meeting someone. The timeline and story just didn't make any sense at all. Both characters just was very odd. Its like the author couldn't help but jump straight into a love story that made no sense at all.
