The Circle - a thousand miles of perilous forests and warring clans. No one has ever tamed such treacherous territory before, but ex-soldier Teyr Amondsen, veteran of a hundred battles, is determined to try.

With a merchant caravan protected by a crew of skilled mercenaries, Teyr embarks on a dangerous mission to forge a road across the untamed wilderness that was once her home. story got lost for the words

There is a world here. Too many abbreviations and poor intonations made it too confusing.

Should have been read by a gravely voiced male

Look, if a woman is going to read this book, then she should at least adopt the persona of the characters. put some grit in that tenor!!

What a wonderful tale of love, war, & struggle

This story was captivating and wove such an intricate tapestry of family, history, and honor in a world of magic and mystery. Zara Ramm's narration was superb.

Brutal and heartfelt.

Really enjoyed Teyr's story. This book is much more accessible than Snakewood, although the timeline jumping back and forth was mildly annoying at first ( more to do with my own impatience than the writing) but as it comes together and the gap closes I really became enthralled. Her sheer determination, at the possible and actual cost of those she loves, to see her ambition through, was impressive.
Adrian's writing style is different to your average fantasy novel, but once you get the hang of it you can't stop. I know a lot of people don't like first person, bit I don't think I would have 'got' Teyr, had I not been inside her head. this works really well as an audiobook.
I especially loved all of the letters at the end, so I wasn't left hanging, wondering what happened next. Although of course I already know what happens way in the future 'next' having read Snakewood. which I now want to re-read!
