A widower tries to find happiness again

Isaac Hochstetler is a widower, still struggling with grief a year and a half after his wife of 31 years died. He's attending a grief support group, where he's made a friend, but not lessened the grip of his grief much. He has also started volunteering at an animal shelter--where walking the dogs really does help, and he adopts one dog, named Grace.

But he's still feeling lost an lonely, until one night a new woman shows up at the grief support group. She's just moved from Ohio to Pennsylvania, and has been a widow about two years. They talk, he likes her, and he goes home.

The next day, he takes Grace out for a walk, and meets the woman walking her rescue dog in the same park.

The question is, can these two lost, grieving people open their hearts to each other, and to the possibility of happiness.

It's a sweet, charming, short story. Recommended.

The Widower’s Journey

A sweet short story that deals with handling the grief of losing a life partner and the ability to move on.

Abraham Troyer did a fantastic job with this short tale. He wrote with feeling and the characters were very relatable. I would love to see more from this author.

Stephanie Richardson really brought out the emotions in this story. A very entertaining listen.

There can be two loves in one's life

This was a quick listen. Stephanie Richardson brought to life the pain Isaac was experiencing. Isaac was so lost without his wife, and I enjoyed how their married life was so connected, felt real to me. As an older married person, this story made me think a little about myself, and I realized that I understood his feelings. I loved how this story still had a happy ending due to Rebecca. Life went on as it does.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

HOPE WHEN HE MEETS REBEKAH

Issac thought he was young for his age at sixty. Also that wisdom
came with age, now it was of his mortality. After losing his wife, their two sons couldn’t fill the gap. A new person comes to town, Rebekah, could there be a fondness or even love to help with the loneliness.Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
The narration was good, and brought the story to life.
