The music died in Vivienne Stark’s life a long time ago and nothing would bring it back. How could the trivialities of life matter when people like her husband died defending their country? She’d vowed to never fall in love again and find meaning in other ways.

Vivienne writes her autobiography, shocked when its popularity provides her with a platform to launch a foundation honoring fallen heroes. She almost feels whole again, until her trusted business partner, Tony Lyleson, embezzles funds and risks the solvency of her charity. She is left with no other choice but to leave her comfortable suburban life to enter the wild and crazy world of her best friend and fashion model, Pepper Taylor, who happens to live in the same city where the foundation is based.

Vivienne leaves for California to catch a criminal and save the charity, but Pepper, Vivienne’s polar opposite, has ideas of her own. Pepper isn’t shy in speaking her mind, nor will she apologize for thrusting Vivienne into new and opulent adventures. Pepper will remind Vivienne of the fun they used to have and will show her why drowning out the music isn’t the answer. Especially when there’s a perfectly good rock star who has his sights on her.

Not being predictable

I loved this story and was very surprised at how different it was from what I thought. It started a little slow but then oh my it really took off. Would definitely read or listen to more.
