Publisher's summary

Fallon is the definition of a woman with her “ish” together. Flourishing business, a home of her own in a new city, a relationship on the verge of marriage, and the opportunity to create a life that looks exactly as she wants it. She’s ready, and willing, to embark on a new adventure.

She just didn’t expect to have to do it on her own.

Business is great, but the home? A total mess. The relationship? Dead in the water. The “new adventure”? Looking more like a disaster.

Until Sean.

With their shared track record of betrayal and broken hearts, it may be better to stay away, but neither of them can resist. Even their contentious first meeting can’t hide the spark of attraction, and that spark leads to a deeper involvement than either of them is sure they’re ready for. But love doesn’t wait until you’re ready - it blooms in its own time.

That’s just the way love goes.

Sean was horrible

I love Christina C Jones books. As a man, its good reading a book about good brothas being open with their feelings and loving black women openly and honestly. We do exist. Anyway, her books are always dope; however Sean ruins the characters. The speed reading and not acknowledging punctuation marks is cringeworthy, not to mention he sounds as if his jaw is wired shut. Wesleigh however, love her reading style. Overall the book was awesome as always.

Awesome

This was soooo good. I can't wait to start book 5.. Fallen and Sean are two people who deserved happiness and I'm glad they found it in each other. On to book 5 now. Two thumbs up for this author and the narrators.

Liked, but didn't Love it.

First let me say that nobody is currently writing related, realistic black love the way Mrs. Jones is. All of her characters are working class with some level of issue, but not in a super disappointing or disturbing way. I also appreciate that she reps hard for the natural hair curly girls in many of her stories. She is awesome that way! I liked that she brings real life situations that often plague the black community but often go unsaid - like depression and fibroids to the forefront. And still after saying all of that - I really did like Fallon and Sean as characters, but their storyline just fell flat and felt rushed to me. I loved the peek back in from all of the other characters in the series again in this book and Fallon's parents were hilarious. It was also cool to see her tie Donnie and Pixie from another serious, into this one. It speaks to her creativity and I really do like that. But again, the storyline was just OK in my opinion. I am too invested to turn away from the series now, so on to book 5!

I just love Christina

I struggled to turn this off. I think this may be my favorite of the series, even tho I wanted a fight to happen between the two men at one point. Loved the story.

Feel Good Reading/Listening

This series has yet to disappoint and is a binge worthy reading!
In book 4 we meet Fallon who has moved her life to a new town for the sake of love only to be dumped. Her family and best friends/assistant was overprotective, funny and always ready for some action. TTG at the finest which I love. (my nickname is Havoc)
Our hero Sean, who a native to the town that Fallon moves to, is really a man’s man, working well with his hands and fishing. He showed signs that he was sweet on Fallon pretty early which I loved, however he was apprehensive on how fast his feelings were developing.
The big reveal I kind of saw coming early but it didn’t take away from the story and how trash ex’s are in the fictional and real world.
I loved how we were able to get some updates on our favorites from the previous reads of the series and the barber shop scene was golden. This is truly a feel good read that just leaves you smiling. Great work CCJ. 4 Stars

A Grown And Sexy Romance!!!

The Way Love Goes was probably the cutest and sweetest book in this series. There was a lot less emotional drama and, Lord knows, I needed a break from that. Fallon and Sean had you rooting for them from the moment they met. They each went through heartbreaking issues in their past relationships we can all relate to. I loved the vulnerability Sean displayed. We don't see that with a lot of black male characters. They had a few trust hurdles to get over but, as always, love won in the end. Fallon and Sean have easily become my second favorite couple in this series. Sorry Roman and Simone. I absolutely adored Fallon's family! They stole the book! "Mind. Your. Business." Ms. Anita was hilarious! Dancing Azz Donnie is the brother we all deserve. And, that plot twist with Ray and Olivia?!!! Mind blown! 🤯🤯🤯 The Way Love Goes is definitely a book for the grown and sexy. I highly recommend it.
