LOVE TAKES NO PRISONERS

Derryth MacClaren is on the run - having been sent from her castle home to avoid capture by the vicious nobleman known as the Wolf, who has vowed revenge against the Clan Kincaid. When a surprise attack leaves her vulnerable, Derryth ends up in the hands of an enemy warrior who claims her, with the Wolf's blessing, as his prize. But her captor's gentle words and touch seduce her heart - and body - completely...and when she discovers the tattoo on his arm that proves him to be the legendary, long-believed dead son of the murdered Laird of Kincaid, Derryth knows she must find a way to alter his fate - and her own....

Cull has no memory of his family or past - all he knows is the life of a warrior, trained to fight on behalf of the Scottish king. But now that Derryth has informed him of who he really is - Cullen Braewick, the youngest son of the slain laird - he is torn. If Cull exacts revenge against the Wolf, who executed his father, he stands to lose the precious lass who he has come to love. What is he willing to sacrifice for Derryth to keep her safe...and in his arms?

I loved this series!

I don’t ever write reviews and I’ve read dozens of Scottish romance novels, but these books really stand out. I couldn’t stop listening. I loved the characters of the three brothers, you really get behind them and feel their disappointments and triumphs. The heroines are also so well written. You feel angry and outraged right along with them. Ruth Urquhart is one of my favorite narrators and she does a good job at separating all of the voices. She even seems to pull off different tons for the three brothers at the same time. Overall I loved this series!

Publishers summary is wrong.

The famous tattoo isn't even discovered until 45 minutes before the end. So don't hold your breath!

My favorite of the three

I'm not going to ruin anything, or give any spoilers, but this one was the perfect way to conclude the story.

All filler, no action, boring

Save the unwary reader from these weepy, weak willed damsels in distress and their teenage hormones. This one is even worse than the previous two in the series (I wish there are more interesting books to read in Audible Escape) because even in her own words, the so called heroine is useless, frivolous and shallow. Throughout she behaves like a selfish horny teenager. Ughhhh. The relationship between the two MCs is purely based on physical appearance and happens within hours of meeting (captor and captive). The plot is filled with gratuitous sex scenes. I was hoping there would be some interesting battle scenes but like the previous installments, no action scenes at all. If the author is incapable of writing action scenes she should not set up battle scenes that are never fought. Instead we get interminable, repetitive, whiny inner monologuing from the two MCs about each other. It’s truly tedious.

Yes, yes, and yes!

A perfect ending to the brothers' stories! I think Cull was my favorite out of all three. A warrior with a soft heart for the woman under his protection. I also related to Derryth through most of the story. Deception, loyalty, romance, and the perfect happily ever after. I'm hoping Robert gets a story... he may not be a member of Clan Kincaid, but he deserves a happy ever after! Lily S. Thomas - Author of the Ice Age Alphas series and Galactic Courtship series

Good Listen

The narrator did a good job. Derryth got on my nerves in the beginning and the story moved a bit slowly in parts. I did like the hero Cull and this series overall.
