An unparalleled group of prominent scholars from wide-ranging disciplines detail ongoing efforts to impose ideological restrictions on science and scholarship throughout western society.

From assaults on merit-based hiring to the policing of language and replacing well-established, disciplinary scholarship by ideological mantras, current science and scholarship is under threat throughout western institutions. As this group of prominent scholars ranging across many different disciplines and political leanings detail, the very future of free inquiry and scientific progress is at risk. Many who have spoken up against this threat have lost their positions, and a climate of fear has arisen that strikes at the heart of modern education and research. Banding together to finally speak out, this brave and unprecedented group of scholars issues a clarion call for change.

Horrible narration, and the constant usage of the words "Quote" and "Unquote" utterly ruin this otherwise interesting book. The quality of writing isn't particularly good either, but the audio production is terrible. Sometimes there are pops, crackling and sharp audio cuts, all hallmarks of poor production quality. The narration is horrible from most of the MANY narrators, with the exception of Richard Dawkins. Some of the narrators have such thick accents that it’s very difficult to understand what they’re saying, while others sound like this is their first read-through and couldn’t feel bothered to take the time to try and read their own writing with any level of care. Sometimes you can hear the narrators licking their lips, smacking their lips, swallowing, gulping, turning paper pages on what they're reading, sighing where inappropriate, one even sounded like they were trying to stifle a partial yawn. This type of horrible narration has no place in a book like this, along with the production quality being so abysmally bad.

The only reason why this is getting two stars is because the content itself needs to be heard. All this woke garbage is a crisis that's infesting our first world societies today and it must be addressed. But I have to admit that I am quite disappointed that Lawrence Krause put out something with such shoddy quality. For that I am greatly disappointed and saddened. I do however recommend that you try to at least listen to this book because of the content. And please, don't "quote" me on this.

"Quote... Unquote."
