Story
It's been six years since a terrifying breed of seemingly unkillable creatures emerged from the darkness to topple the unprepared governments of the world, in the process knocking mankind down the food chain. Survivors called it The Purge. A few brave souls rose from the ashes of the old world to fight back, often against overwhelming odds. Led by indomitable heroes, they risked everything to achieve a final, stunning victory over the supernatural "ghouls" in The Battle of Houston. Five years later, what remains of the ghouls have fled back into the shadows.

Story
Keo has tried to stay out of it, but five years in the wild have only led him back to the one place he dreaded most - alongside a woman from his past and fighting someone else’s cause. Except this is one war he can’t turn his back on. What’s a reformed mercenary to do? Lara didn’t want this. Not another war to fight. She’s been struggling to bring order to chaos since "The Walk Out" and doing it with as little bloodshed as possible. But Fenton is forcing her hand, and sometimes you have to get a little bloody, whether you want to or not.

Story
Keo has been in tough situations before. Some have been tougher than others, but he’s always managed to come out on top thanks to an innate stubbornness, the skills he’s honed from a previous life, and a whole lot of Lady Luck. But Luck can sometimes be a fickle mistress, there are always people with more skills, and stubbornness has a tendency to bite you in the ass if you’re not careful. Since leaving Gaby at Axton, Keo finds himself being stalked by a highly-trained group of humans in the day and hordes of the undead at night. Someone, something out there wants him, and it won’t be denied.

The long night is upon them. After five years of hard work, dedication, and too many sacrifices, Lara thought she had made progress in bringing what remained of humanity together in her small part of the world. She also thought they had seen the last of the ghouls as a major threat. She was wrong on both counts. An unnatural alliance between two enemies, forged in secrecy, has finally been revealed. With Keo away on a mission, the real threat is at the gates, leaving Lara, Gaby, and a city full of civilians unprepared for a long and relentless night of fighting.

Publisher's Summary
Every survivor has a story. The Purge decimated the planet almost a year ago, leaving small bands of humanity scrambling to find sanctuary from the hordes of unkillable monsters that reside in the darkness. Keo is one of the few who made it through that harrowing first night. Trapped in a small town in Louisiana, he finds himself joining forces with a group of strangers to make sense of what's happening. Like thousands of others around the globe at that exact moment, Keo and his new allies will discover that braving the creature-infested first night is only the beginning. Every day from that moment on will be a struggle, and every night will be a nightmare. This is their story.

Introducing Keo. Things are about to change.
Would you consider the audio edition of The Walls of Lemuria: A Purge of Babylon Novel to be better than the print version?
Well, I am not certain I would compare the two formats to begin with. I first read the book in print form, and liked being able to revisit the story where I wanted to, to reread a passage, and move at my own pace. The audiobook gives an entire new take on things, by turning print into performance. As such, both formats have merit. Personally, I prefer print. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the audio format, and when I was listening to the book on the way home from work, smiled when I hit the rush hour traffic.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Keo! This book really served to introduce Keo to readers, and to give us an idea of who he is, his background, strengths, etc. While there are others, to be sure, the reader is certain to find Keo's unique personality to be a great addition to this evolving series.
Which scene was your favorite?
I cannot recall one scene that stood out among the rest. Sam keeps the story consistent, and there are certainly no dull spots in the book. I would say that if you find one scene to be your favorite, keep reading-- you will likely change your mind very soon!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did not have an extreme reaction, no, but I did find myself getting far less sleep at night because I could not put the book down. So, I had the opposite reaction-- fatigue from reading too much!
Any additional comments?
I have been a fan from the beginning of this series, and while this may bias my opinion, I will offer it anyway: this is a great series, and I am confident you will enjoy it. The author keeps the plot moving by never allowing the characters to stagnate. If you recall from book one, the characters find a great shelter, but end up leaving. I found myself wondering several times why the author decided to keep the characters on the move, but eventually realized that it keeps the story unique, and gives us far more chances to see the team do what they do best: survive in a dangerous world!

A great take off on the Babylon series
Any additional comments?
If you are familiar with the Babylon series this is another story in that world Sam Sisavath created. If you have not you are missing an engaging story and you may want to start with the Purge of Babylon. That book will flesh out the details and you'll have a better understanding of the creatures the author created.
This book starts at the beginning with another set of characters. Keo has a bit of a shady past, "see the world, kill some people, make some money". Working with a private contractor provided Keo with the skills he needs to lead his group. This group has to learn what tactics will work to kill the creatures. It's painful to not jump into this book and tell them what was learned by the group in the main series. It does however have an all the elements to keep you in engaged while they work they way through this new world filled with humans turned into devastating creatures. Enjoy the ride, yes it's worth it. Now if they would just put the rest of the Babylon series on audiobook. Please!!!!!

I found this book to be less entertaining than the purge series. I found myself growing to love the relentless humor between Danny and Will, and that spark of liveliness was missing in this book. While the main character in this book brought new opportunities for a refreshing angle on Sisivath's end of the world scenario, the lack of excitement and overly subdued narration made Lemuria feel dull.
