Publisher's summary

Welcome to The Waiting Mortuary.

Bash Trawler wants to find an easy summer job, so he can get back to partying with his friends. When he discovers an advertisement in the local paper for night watch at a nearby funeral home, he jumps at the chance to make quick money. But staying up all night watching corpses for an eccentric war vet turns into something out of his worst nightmares.

Casey McClair wants to make it to the tennis team. Popularity has never come easily to her, and she’s willing to practice into the late evening and follow all the rules of the game if it means she’ll finally find acceptance. But when she's kidnapped, she'll have to fight to survive a harrowing ordeal with a cold and calculated serial killer.

X knows about pain. He's been through the worst of what humans do to each other. He's not a victim, though. The thrill is in the fight, and he'll make sure his victims know it.

Three stories intertwine to tell the sickening tale of what goes on inside The Waiting Mortuary.

I Love This Series

Awesome narration. I loved the different viewpoints of the mortuary and what was going on. Really interesting. The serial killer was seriously sick. The ending gave me chills.

Another excellent thriller from L.V. Pires!

This was another great thriller from L.V. Pires! I accidentally read the third book first, but it stood alone. When I went back to get the first two, I wasn't disappointed! These are excellent stories with well developed characters and storylines that leave you breathless waiting for the next scene! I can't recommend these books highly enough for thriller lovers and now I'm off to listen to book 2!

horror well done!

This audio held my attention right from the start. The way the story twist and turns was done excellently. I was cheering for some of the characters throughout the story. I listened to this in one sitting... i just wanted to hear a little more...then i kept going. It was suspenseful a full storyline not just horror & gore but an actual story. Dont get me wrong it had its share of horror and gore but not overdone. Well done! Thank you...

Great story.

The story was really interesting, I had my thought on how it was going to end.... I was wrong, it went slightly different and it was great.
And as for the narrator, he did an amazing job.

I wonder what at will happen in the next one.

Serial Killer Story With a Twist

A teen girl desperate to fit in. A teen boy who wants to chill. A nice, normal town. Summer break before senior year. Oh, and a serial killer hellbent on forcing his victims to fight to their death. Wow! The Waiting Mortuary is one sick story that had me wondering what could happen next? Great reading by T.J. Clark! I'm looking forward to the next one.

The battle to remain alive

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. What a fiery, intense and creepy as hell story that's brilliantly brought to life gorgeously by TJ. Clark; so mesmerizing dark I couldn't stop listening. For Casey, her life is tennis and her coaches rules make her once of the best but from the moment a serial killer targets her and pulls her into a sick game as Casey must battle a man that's both terrifying and tragic by his haunting past of she wants to finally learn her freedom. Even if that means becoming a sick as the man that abducted her. And there's Bash, a guy that wants just an easy life where he doesn't have to work too hard and what any odd man named Alfred offers easy money, Bash takes up the offer and gets himself roped into something that has himself questioning his own sanity. Watching the dead that come to Alfred's run down mortuary because he believes these people are still alive; and like the serial killer of this story, Alfred is just as tragic and makes Bash's situation as harrowing as Casey's; it's a brilliant twist of fate that ties these three people together in a great fashion that adds whole another complex thread to this story. And its ends as powerfully as it begins.

Highly recommended.

Good story with a decent twist

Overall the story was good. I’m not a huge fan of things written in present tense, but the author did a great job of writing the scenes well. The chapter shifts between the person telling the story was also a nice touch and made it a rather enjoyable listen.

Great spooky story for Halloween!

Summer Break Horror

From the first chapter, I was hooked on this story. Interesting characters that make the story easy to listen to and a great summer beach read. The ending pushed it to five stars. Now, I want to know what happens next.
