Is he who he says he is?

Izzie Mallon will be shutting herself away from the festive season, and the snowstorm that has brought the city to a standstill, in her apartment on Henrietta Square - the beautiful home she shared with her beloved husband, Sam, until his tragic death a few months ago. Then, there’s a knock at the door - a stranger, stranded by the bad weather. He tells Izzie that he’s Eli Sanders, her husband’s longtime friend. Izzie has never met him in person, but feels she owes it to Sam to welcome Eli into her home. Even though her instincts say otherwise....

As Izzie tries to reminisce with Eli about her husband, cracks in his story begin to show. But will she be able to see clearly through her grief before it’s too late?

So Bad

I had this in my wish list for a very long time. I'd like to say something nice about this and all I can think of is at least it wasn't really long or expensive.

She definitely wasn't going for believability with this. I couldn't believe how she wrote American characters. None of the phrasing was close to how someone from the US actually talks.
The main character is not very likable to me. I mean who let's a stranger into their house who claims to be her dead husbands best friend she's never met. Then when he says he can try to find his passport she says no.

Then she seems skeptical but lets him stay. He harasses her about passwords and devices and doesn't think it's really weird. Most unbelievable is he says he going to go try and get a flight. When he reappears she still lets him in. At that point I felt she deserved whatever happens to her.

I've never disliked a narrator with a UK or Irish accent until now. The only one that couldn't do an American accent.

This only like the 3rd of the 900 audiobooks I have that I gave one star to.
