If you want to feel-good and smile while you listen to a storyline where the hero and heroine instantly connect and are absolutely perfect for each other.. then this is your book. If you want to listen to a sweet flirty friendship which unfolds because a love relationship between them is forbidden but they just can’t stay away.. then look no further you’ve found your next entertaining listen. If you want to love and respect two characters because they really really try to stay away from each other but really really can’t help failing and falling.. then one click this well-written sweet love story. And, if you want to hear two narrators who are awesome and the perfect choice for the characters and the storyline.. then buy this now and treat your ears.

I do love a bad bad boy.. but sometimes it’s really nice to listen to a good boy who waited two years for a second-chance with the right woman. I love a woman who knows what she wants and Reese is one-hundred percent certain she wants Holden and have a second-chance to lose her virginity to him. Their Baseball fuelled relationship has delicious stepping-stones and just the right amount of waiting where ‘off-limits’ slowly bends, crosses lines and nicely leads to happily ever afters. There’s hurt and character growth in there too as a daughter tries to forgive and get to know her absentee Father and his new pregnant wife.

Worth a credit? When I want a feel-good romance with chemistry, sex, swoons, sighs, smiles and a solid low-to-no angst story then there’s no-one better to give me what I’m looking for than Lauren Blakely.. so yes, this story is definitely worth a credit.

Hooked from the first chapter!

A connection like theirs is rare and they both knew it.  Sadly, it just wasn't their time, because they each still had some growing to do in their careers. A chance meeting at a party years later proves just how strong of a connection they have. With lines like this, "Good. That's how you should be kissed so you don't forget how it feels when my lips touch you." My god, this was the swooniest book ever! I fell in love with Holden and Reese and I really think you all will too!
Can we talk about how amazing Ava Erickson and Jason Clarke were in this book? I just loved their performances in this book.

So, so, so swoony!!

From the time they met within minutes of this audiobook starting, Holden and Reese captured my heart, and this has to be the quickest I started rooting for a couple.

Reese was this confident, self-assured, badass in the making. I loved that she knew what she wanted, and had no problem working to get it. Holden pretty much had his professional life mapped out. He was new to major league baseball, and wanted to make the most of the opportunity. Holden wasn't interested in random hook-ups, so dating was rare for him, and he was fine with that. He had goals to attain, and a relationship wasn't part of his plans. Until he met Reese.

No spoilers, but I loved how Holden and Reese had that almost immediate click between them. They prolonged their time together, and it looked like Cupid was playing matchmaker w/them. Until an important event happens, and puts their hearts and flowers on hold. Reese focused on her job, and Holden focused on baseball. As busy as they were, they remained hopeful that the stars would line up for them. Their positivity, hope, and faith were so inspiring.

This was a beautifully sweet love story. Of course, Lauren brings plenty of the heat we've come to expect. Jason and Ava were amazing in their narration. I can't wait for the next story in this awesome series.

Awe Now that was unique story.

This book is very well written. The plot strengths as it should to that "awe" moment at the end of story. Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson were excellent narrators of this entertaining Audio book.
I highly recommend it when you need a few hours of listening to something lighthearted and swoon worthy.

5 The Wait Was So Worth It Stars!!

Holden and Reese have a connection that is undeniable. Their relationship starts when Holden is interviewed by Reese for her Podcast at his Alma Mater which is the same University Reese attends. Their repartee was so much fun to listen to. Reese is a woman with a plan and it didn’t include falling for a rising star MLB player like Holden. But sometimes life hands you a surprise and you just need to go with it because it will add so much to who and what you are and this is Holden and Reese.

However, sometimes it’s not at the right time when life can change and so even though they have this amazing connection it’s going to be a while before they can truly act upon their desires!! Oh but when they do see each other again, the feelings are real and palpable!!

I loved how dedicated they both are to their careers. Holden is focused on becoming the best MLB player around and he’s got tunnel vision on this goal….except where Reese is concerned. And for Reese she’s found her dream job and hopefully her dream man, but there’s a major obstacle that could end them before they begin!

There’s something to be said for perseverance and when you want something so much, you find a way to make it happen and as the book moves along it’s clear that Holden and Reese will find a way. And oh my stars their sexy times are not only filled with desire and sexiness but humor too which is the perfect combo in my mind.

I absolutely loved Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson’s narration of this book. Their ability to bring life to a story is spectacular. I’m mesmerized by their narration and how they can get all the emotions out of me… from snort laughing to swooning to soul crushing pain. Ms. Blakely hit the nail right on the head by choosing Jason and Ava for this project!! This is a wonderful addition to Lauren’s Rules of Love series and trust me when I say you need to read this book. It’ll let you escape from your everyday worries/stress and fall in love with two characters that are meant to be together no matter what!!

Amazing aural talents!

The Virgin Game Plan by Lauren Blakely is book 2 of the Rules of Love series. This series is centered around the game of baseball. The love story of Holden and Reese is at the forefront of the story. You don’t have to understand or even like the game of baseball to love Holden and Reese. Lauren is the queen of between-the-sheets action in my game book. Let me just say that Holden and Reese sure set fire to the sheets and out of the sheets as well. The audio book is narrated by the very talented voices of Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson. Jason has a voice as deep and smooth as a fine whiskey. Ava is just as talented at bringing Reese’s passion for her family, career, best friend, and love of life to life. Whether you read the book or listen to the audio or both you will fall in love with Reese and Holden and maybe even the game of baseball.

Sweet Romance!

This is the second book in the Rules of Love Series, a Sports Romance. Holden and Reese's story is sweet, beautiful, and heartwarming. Holden is handsome, caring, and supportive. Reese is such a beautiful and strong character. They share an undeniable chemistry, and they are perfect together. I loved to follow them in their journey to love. The supporting characters are great. This is the perfect Summer Read. Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson did an amazing job with the narration.
