The Vanderbeekers have always lived in the brownstone on 141st Street. It's practically a member of the family. So when their reclusive, curmudgeonly landlord decides not to renew their lease, the five siblings have 11 days to do whatever it takes to stay in their beloved home and convince the dreaded landlord just how wonderful they are...and all is fair in love and war when it comes to keeping their home.

One of the biggest questions listeners have when it comes to approaching a new audiobook is whether or not they'll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable, as audiobooks are at least a few hours long (with many clocking in at 20 hours long—or more!), and sticking with one person's voice for that time period can feel like a big commitment. We rounded up some of the best female narrators with a robust list of audiobooks under their belts.

I loved the Vanderbeekers they are my new favorite book family. They act just like real kids and each and everyone of them is so fleshed out. I never wondered what one kid was doing because they were already doing it. such a great touching story.

such a good story

Very engaging story for upper elementary and middle school. Robin Miles is a good narrator, excellent at changing voices for each character, although some feel a little stereotypical. The main characters are biracial children with an Asian mom and white dad. This never came through in the narration, though. It’s not essential to the plot, but it feels a bit off.

Love the story, maybe a different narrator
