Publisher's Summary

Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has big problems. The human Viking clans of Earth are in danger of being obliterated-along with the rest of the world - and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can't stand...

Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn't she, when the other Viking clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She's not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn't expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he's so easy to torment - and also kind of cute.

With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he'll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin's face. Wait. What? He didn't mean that-did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one...

I love this series, the author and the narrator

The story line completely holds my interest and the narrator has the perfect tone of the story. I am really looking forward to the next book.

successful third book in the series

Where does The Unyielding rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like Shelly Laurenston and her early Pride/Shifter books can be very raw and uncomfortable. The Author had evolved a style that is both comedic and female kickass. The Author does empower females but it is a concept that can go over board especially in a character like Erin Amsdal. The Author stayed true to Erin's brass, assholish character but managed to add depth to her. I liked how she and Stig played off each other and it was not a normal he man save little lady rescue romance as that would never work.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hilda the Goat. Because she can head butt you. Liked the dragon and the squirrel too.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not sure. Liked the book overall but I do remember the scene when the dragon was eating the leg of a corpse like a chicken bone. That sticks in your mind.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but was not able to. It was actually more enjoyable spread out over several days.

Any additional comments?

The author maintains a nice balance between comedy, brashness, and the end of the world is coming. She manages to put together very bizarre characters and make it work. The author's world is not for the quiet, shy, introvert. Although at times you want to push the lot of them off a bridge or balcony.

EXCELLENT!

WOW! I can truly say that this is one of the best books I've experienced. The humor is unmatched, and the storyline is unique. This book is the best in the series, so far.

So entertaining.

What made the experience of listening to The Unyielding the most enjoyable?

I love all of the series written by Ms.Laurenston. they all make me laugh. Her Crows series is full of snarky intresting people. I love the action and always have trouble putting her books down. Cant wait for the next installment!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Unyielding?

The goat being rocked.

What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoy listening to her voice. There are some whose different voices they do annoy me but never hers.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Talking crap Kicking ass the way of the Crow.

Any additional comments?

Please keep them coming!

Can't wait for the next one!!!!

OK....Erin and Steig....I love Steig...our quiet soul! You also gotta love Erin...well actually in the first couple of books you kind of love to hate her, but she has such a attitude and doesn't really care if you do! These two were opposite, but then when these two finally got together, explosive! This is full of action and I lost sleep until I finished!

I don't want to give it away, but if you have read her Pride series (which I was sad to see end) then you are familiar with SL great world building and character full of sass and complexity...you won't be disappointed. But this is a series, read this one in order.

Worth a credit, YES!!!!

Book 3

I enjoyed listening to Erin & Stieg's story of trying to prevent the destruction of life on Earth. The pair find themselves in danger at every turn but quitting just isn't in their DNA. My only gripe is that the entire series is missing the Laurenston humor that I loved & looked forward to in the pack books. However, The Unyielding has great character building, plot, & storyline development!

Smartassry at its finest.

Another crazy romp for the Crows and Ravens. This time Erin has to go to the Helheim and Stieg go along for the ride. There is lots of adventure and making of new friends never a dull moment in this series. Shelly Laurenston has this weird ability to make side characters who are annoying in other books and turn them into funny main characters when it was their book. Erin is a great example of that, just like Blaine in the Pride series. While overall this book isn't hard to follow I get a little mixed up with all the different Norse mythology, I'm just not as familiar with it as I am the with the Greek pantheon. Of course the main ones; Thor, Loki, and Odin are popular but the rest not so much. Narrator is good, I have always like her.
