Publisher's Summary

An incredible victory but at a terrible price....

Against all the odds, Jack West Jr found the Three Secret Cities but at a heartbreaking cost.

His beloved daughter, Lily, it appeared, was slaughtered by Sphinx in a cruel ancient ritual.

To the mountains and the fall!

With his rivals far ahead of him, Jack must now get to one of the five iron mountains - two of which have never been found - and perform a mysterious feat known only as 'The Fall'.

Although what is this object on the moon that is connected to it?

A new player arrives.

Amid all this, Jack will discover that a new player has entered the race, a general so feared by the four legendary kingdoms they had him locked away in their deepest dungeon.

Only now this general has escaped, and he has a horrifying plan of his own....

what the hell happened ?

once upon a time Matthew Reilly wrote a credible fun adventure story . I was a huge fan. Now JWJr is involved in the most ridiculous stories ever written. His books stated off well and have become progressively so far away from the original book. If he wants to write science fiction pick another character. Unbelievably disappointing and unimaginative. You've ruined a great character Mathew Reilly

Good story - poor narration

This has been the worst narration of any audiobook I’ve purchased. Not enough volume, poor presenter. Shame really as the story is decent.

Always a great listen

Always a great story and just the right mix of facts and fiction. Also found out that Matt Reilly released two short stories online for free in the interview at the end of the book! Such a great bloke, supporting his readers through the pandemic and 2020.

Had trouble sticking with it

Too many “fake deaths” - people you think have died, Jack reads their final goodbye emails and then they turn up not dead after all. The story is very long and convoluted and sometimes suspending belief is just impossible. Only really noticed this time that the narrator does very little in the way of character voices. I’ve heard some amazing narrators over the last few years and sadly this narrator isn’t one of them - not when it comes to character voices. I think Matthews one off books are where his strength lies.

Nice Thriller

Always a pleasure to read, and be part of Jacks adventures but found the pace a little slower going than the others from this series...

Having a Really Bad Day

When Jack West Jr is having a really bad day so is the rest of the world. The poor guy just can't take a trick. However, after the stuff he's been put through, Somebody's gonna get some killin' Another good book Some new Crew Some less Crew. Some great back stories. looking forward to Omega.
