Publisher's Summary

Never, ever fall for your brother’s annoying, infuriating, gorgeous best friend.

Gia Norcross’ life is exactly how she likes it. She has a successful PR firm in San Francisco, a beautiful apartment, a loving family of overprotective brothers, and her fabulous designer shoe collection. Perfection. Sure, occasionally she has to deal with her aggravating nemesis who happens to be her brother’s best friend. Saxon Buchanan: former Delta Force, tall, rich, handsome, bossy, and knows how to work her last nerve.

She’ll never, ever admit to anyone that most days, she isn’t sure if she wants to punch the arrogant, tattooed, suit-wearing know-it-all...or kiss him.

After a military career spent in a covert special ops team doing hard, dirty, and very classified missions, Saxon Buchanan is happy working at Norcross Security as the company’s top troubleshooter. He also enjoys the perks of civilian life. That includes sparring with smart, sexy Gia of the wide brown eyes, luscious curves, and sharp tongue. He’s spent half his life fighting the pull of his best friend’s little sister.

But seeing a man aim a gun at Gia changes everything.

When Gia’s troubled childhood best friend drags her into a really, really bad situation, soon bullets are flying, precious gemstones are missing, and Gia’s in danger. Saxon’s done pushing away the one woman he’s ever wanted. He’ll do everything to protect her, and he’s not letting anything get in his way: not the bad guys, not his best friend, and especially not Gia.

Love the narration and love the fun characters

I love Anna Hackett books and while this one wasn't my favorite, it still was a fun ride. This is Gia and Saxon's book. Gia's best friend gets her into trouble and Saxon has his hands full trying to keep her safe. I think the biggest issue I had was Gia's almost total blind devotion to her friend, who time after time after time got her in trouble. Gia was always in trouble and while she was pretty strong and smart, her troubles ended up being a little overextended, in my opinion. I loved Saxon- alpha, protective and sweet. And it's always great to see the brothers (And I loved revisiting Team 52 for the second we see the team). So, this is an ensemble action/romance that was fun, exciting and romantic. I can't wait for the next one!

I read the ebook and then listened to the audiobook for my second reading. The team of Stella Bloom and Teddy Hamilton is amazing. I admit that TH is one of my favorite narrators but his voice is perfect for all the characters. Stella Bloom also is fantastic. I absolutely loved the narration and it elevated the story as well.

4.5 Exciting and Steamy Stars!

Wow, this second story in the Norcross series was a fast paced, thrilling and steamy romance. Gia Norcross has worked hard to build a business and life she loves. When a friend from the past asks Gia for help, she doesn't hesitate to help. Soon she finds herself in danger when trouble comes knocking at her door looking for what her friend stole from them. Gia isn't afraid after being raised with her alpha brothers, and knows how to defend herself from the bad guys. Even when things get dicey, she isn't happy when her brothers, and especially Saxon Buchanan, step in to help. Saxon is her brother's sexy, arrogant best friend and her crush since she was young. Saxon is ex military, special ops and now works at Norcross Security as the company’s top troubleshooter. He has been attracted to Gia for years but stayed away in repect to her brother. But now that she is in danger, he will do whatever it tkes to protect her, and make her his. I loved Gia so much! She is a force to be recomded with and that makes Saxon want her even more. Saxon is the ultimate swoony alpha. But no matter how he tried to make Gia stay safe, he could never deny her anything. This fast paced, steamy enemies-to-lovers romance was once again brought to life flawlessly by the talented Stella Bloom, and Teddy Hamilton. Hamilton had the perfect balance of Saxon's smoldering, alpha dominance, with a swoony tender side, and Bloom showed us Gia's strength and resilience so beautifully. I loved listening to them both as they drew me in, and made this story, with all it's twists and turns, even more exciting.

My holiday treat!

If you want a hit romantic suspense...with a b@d@$$ heroine...then look no further! Gia Norcross is the only sister of the 3 hot and deadly Norcross brothers. She has a successful business and great family and friends...if only she didn’t have to constantly see the bane of her existence, Saxon Buchanan. He’s wealthy, sexy, and her brother’s best friend. She doesn’t have feelings for him...not one bit...well, ok, maybe a teensy crush from childhood...but he’s still annoying! When Gia is almost kidnapped, Saxon steps in and takes her protection to the next level. Saxon has always known that Gia’s soft heart towards her childhood friend, Willow, would get her into trouble...and now it has! It’s up to him...fine, and the rest of the Norcross team...to protect Gia and stop the bad guys before it’s too late. This book is fast paced, super steamy and action packed! There may be some slapping of bad guys included! Great story! Teddy Hamilton and Stella Bloom really pulled off the angsty relationship between Gia and Saxton!! Definitely a re-listen for me. Looking forward to big brother, Easton Norcross, story next!

Unrealistic

There is no way anyone would give a friend as much rope as Gia did in this book; speaking of stuck on stupid. I wanted to give Gia a reality check. The narrators were excellent, but they couldn’t help this storyline. Hope the next book in series is better.

Very entertaining story and performance

I love the characters in this book, but I hate all the graphic sex scenes. And it seemed like there were a lot of those in this book. I debated giving it 4 stars. 5 stars won out becaue I love the characters, and the story is so entertaining with action scenes and the developing romance. Most of the performance was very good although there were some spots where the voice was annoying to me. I am a big fan of this series.

Gia's turn

This book features Gia Norcross, whose friendship with a user lands her in some deep trouble and bad guys are after her. Saxon Buchanan has wanted Gia for a while and there is no way he's letting her get hurt on his watch.

Love the strong characters and story development as always.

Enemies to Lovers Tropes are so fun!!

If an Author can pull off a good Enemies to Lovers trope with a well executed banter and sass between the two main characters, then you have an automatic winner of a book. I loved Saxon and Gia more than I expected. We got a tease of them in Book #1 of the Norcross Security Series, The Investigator and the tension felt between these two characters carried right into The Troubleshooter. Fun level, High! Heat level, Smokin'! Supporting cast, always a pleasure! There was a scene where Gia's actions got me scratching my head a bit, and Saxon was a bit possessive alpha-male at times, but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book, and I give it a solid 4.5 stars. I'm already looking forward to a re-listen of this book. Stella Bloom, one of my all time fav narrators, always does such a brilliant job, and Teddy Hamilton does really knows how to portray Alpha Males in this series.

Love the story and the series

Love Anna Hackett books...this series I get the ebook and listen to the audible. I love Stella Bloom. She is so talented. Does great women and men’s voices. But Teddy Hamilton made Saxon sounds nasal and Gia whiny. The first time I just quit. This time bored with COVID and a Texas ice storm I stick through it. Please Anna let Stella do all the next one!

This is the second book in the Norcross Security Series, an amazing Romantic Suspense. Gia and Saxon's story is fast-paced, and actions packed. Saxon is handsome, and protective. Stella Bloom and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job with the narration. I love their voices together. I need more of the Norcross Family!

Gia's story!

This series is everything I love to listen to! Anna Hackett knows how to push all the right buttons for me, and I could not have had a better Christmas present!! Gia is the only sister in the Norcross family, but growing up with these alpha male brothers has given her grit! She is loyal to the end, and when it comes to her friend Willow, she will do whatever it takes to be there for her. Now Willow has brought danger to her home, and Saxon, her brother's best friend is there to protect her. Gia being off limits to Saxon has kept him away, but now he is determined to make her his. But will his feelings get in the way of keeping her safe? Does she feel the same way? Talk about witty, sarcastic banter! I love these two. They dance around each other, a little bit of a slow burn, but when it ignites, their passion is explosive. Add in the taboo of being her being Vander's sister, the story takes on a whole aspect of big brother possessiveness. Gia is feisty, and I love her! She is independent and determined to deal with things on her own. Saxon is a little over the top in the beginning, but I love his protectiveness. He knows what he wants, and does what he has to. I also love the interaction with the Norcross brothers. Each their own personality, they bring a cohesiveness to the story and make for an action packed and exciting listen. I can't wait to hear Easton's story next!

Teddy Hamilton and Stella Bloom bring this story to life. It's full of action and romance, and these two are perfect for the roles. Hamilton takes on Saxon's alpha personality and gives us all those possessive feels. Bloom brings out the spunkiness of Gia, and still lets us feel her vulnerability. These storytellers are perfectly cast and made for an enjoyable listen.

Family Matters

Anna Hackett's great new series continues with another pulse pounding suspense this time featuring little sister Gia and her fiery non relationship with her brother's best friend and former fellow team mate Saxon Buchanan and the trouble her friend gets her into. As Saxon, along with her overprotective brothers, tries to protect her from the bad guys searching for a missing diamond, he struggles with his feelings for Gia and his loyalty to the Norcross Family a family that are important to him.

Will Saxon put his heart as well as his life on the line for Gia or will he be unwilling to risk the only family that matters to him. Will Gia put aside her pre-conceived opinions about rich and privileged Saxon. More importantly can Norcross keep her alive long enough to have her happy ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest edition of Norcross Security. The characters are engaging and Stella and Teddy's narration is top notch. Looking forward to the next instalment.

I received this book for free from the author and this is my unbiased review.

So many entertaining elements

I’m now officially a fan of the author. The books aren’t perfect, but there are so many entertaining elements and things I enjoyed!

For instance, I love her female characters. They’re sensible, nice, feminine, somewhat fragile, but faced with danger, they take matters in their own hands, no matter how scared they are. That’s the case with Gia, who doesn’t let fear paralize her. And what’s better? Their men, who are obviously of the alpha male kind–possessive, badass, strong and muscular, that’s ex-black ops for you–will opt to just follow them, even when they want to keep them safe. They relinquish power if needed. Saxon is definitely of that sort, modeling his house to please the woman he loves.

Gia and Saxon are both headstrong, so of course any confrontation results in sparks. And where there are sparks, there’s the possibility of a fire. The chemistry is off the charts, and there are many intimate scenes to prove it.

Family is another element of this book–the one you’re born into, and the one you choose. Gia’s devotion to her friend Willow, and the way Saxon was kind of adopted into the Norcross family are well developped and beautiful, while Saxon’s parents show that blood is sometimes thinner than love.

The narrators of the previous book are back, and since the characters are forged in the same furnace, they’re still perfect for the job.

In the same manner that this book follows exactly the previous one–starting where the other ended–, there’s a hint about the next book in the series, and I can’t wait.

Absolutely fantastic

I love this series. The characters are brilliant. I love how the women are strong and independent but also open to help from these big buff Alpha’s. A fantastic performance from both Stella and Teddy. Excellent action and it flows nicely into the next book. Looking forward to it.
