All that history knows of Grace Plantagenet is that she was an illegitimate daughter of Edward IV and one of two attendants aboard the funeral barge of his widowed queen. Thus, she was half sister of the famous young princes, who, when this story begins in 1485, had been housed in the Tower by their uncle, Richard III, and are presumed dead. But in the 1490s, a young man appears at the courts of Europe claiming to be Richard, duke of York, seeking to claim his rightful throne from England's first Tudor king.

Publisher's Summary
Danger brought them together... Gislebert, a gentle troubadour seeking the woman who captured his heart; Jonas, a feisty street urchin surviving by his wits and his beautiful drawings.
These two uneasy companions agree to join in the search for adventure. But Jonas has a secret - one that will change the troubadour's life. As the two face hardship, imprisonment, and threats to their lives, Gislebert must face the demands of two kinds of love: faithful friendship and devotion to God.
A hauntingly beautiful tale, The Troubadour's Quest weaves a tapestry that defines the true nature of love: spiritual, self-giving devotion that springs from a heart committed to God's purposes.

Love is Blind
I really enjoyed this story of a wandering minstrel's quest for love in medieval England and France. Set during the time Eleanor of Aquitaine was still the French queen, it follows the quest of Gislebert the minstrel who travels England and France with his young companion, determined to find love, only to discover, in the end, that what he seeks has always been within his grasp.
As a long time student of the Eleanor's "court of love" a few years later as Henry's queen, this period in history has always fascinated me, and Angela Hunt does a good job of capturing both the elegance and the harshness of the world Gislebert and Jonas inhabit.
This audio version is well narrated and easy to listen too and the story itself is like stepping through a veil into a world full of magic and a courtly ideal that, as Gislebert eventually discovers, is full of hopes and dreams, but was likely never real for most people.
