The Treasure of Solomon

Sam Cohen is on top of the world as the star of the unexpectedly successful Archeology Channel, and the next ancient artifact he has tracked down and is unveiling, live on TV, promises to eclipse all others in all of human history.

However, Sam and his bodyguard, Kishor, are unaware that the priceless value of the find is known to Brisbane and his high-tech band of mercenaries. They now know the secret location of the fabled “Treasure of Solomon” sought for years by the Muslims, the Jews, and the American Christians. And, they intend to take the sacred Lost Ark of the Covenant, all while the world watches, live.

There are powers of evil lurking, seeking to piggyback on Cohen’s discovery to steal it and sell for a king’s ransom. There are parallel paths of good and evil destined for a collision course. The author weaves a contemporary tale with echoes from the Bible, of which he has such a great command.

Christian fiction with a twist of real world flare

Mr. Peel has produced a fun tale of chasing down the possible modern day location of the Biblical Ark of the Covenant. A large portion of the story that occurs stateside takes place in Memphis Tennessee. With this location, the author is able to step outside the fiction portion of the story for a few moments. He uses the opportunity to highlight the great work being done to fight cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and pay tribute to the legacy of a wonderful man of God, the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, the former pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church.

This was my first time listening to this particular narrator and I really enjoyed his character voices. I thought it brought a third dimension to the story telling.
